英文歌词翻译的方法与技巧【1】
一、
注意理解词组
词法(包括构词法、词性分析等)中，我们需要关注得多一点的是英语的词组或者说习惯用法。
毕竟我们不是在英语的母语，所以深谙英语的词组、成语和习惯用法就成为了翻译中的基本。
在“Mama”这首歌曲中，请看：
used to be意思是“过去常常做…”，注意区别be used to do(过去习惯做)。
所以，歌词She used to be my only enemy and never let mebe free.可以翻译为“她曾是我唯一的敌手，从不让我自由”。
当然，在这首歌词里“enemy”是“敌人”的意思。
其实可以理解，小时候，我们不听话，认为妈妈不给我们自由，所以把她当“敌人”看。
这其实是英语里面的一种“以贬义代褒义”的反讽手法。
但是翻译的时候，要注意分寸，如果用“天敌，宿仇”就显得有点“过度”了。
二、
注意理解时态
这首歌曲为了表达自己儿时的淘气和不明事理，以及后来长大后，对妈妈良苦用心的理解。
一直都在采用过去时态和现在时态的明显对比。
比如：
Back then I didn't know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All that you did was love。
又如：I didn't want to hear it then butI'm not ashamed to say it now.

注意理解从句
一般来说，从句中使用频率最多的是“名词性从句(主语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句)、定语从句和状语从句。
这首歌词表现很突出，如：
1. 名词性从句
I never thought you would become the friend…是一个宾语从句，只不过thought后面省略了that。
这个句子可以翻译为：我从来没有想到你会成为我的朋友。
I didn't know why you were misunderstood也是一个宾语从句，只不过由why来连接了。
2. 定语从句
定语从句是英语中比较特殊的语法现象。
汉语的定语只能在所修饰的名词前，但是英语中，由于定语从句的存在，名词后面可以有很长的定语修饰。
I never thought you would become the friend I never had.就有一个定语从句I never had(我从来没有过的)修饰the friend.如果加上前面的主句和宾语从句部分，就可以理解为“我从来没有想到你会成为我的朋友，这个朋友是我以前从来没有的)。
进而翻译为：我从未曾想到你会成为我的密友。
3. 状语从句
Every other day I crossed the line I didn'tmean to be so bad.这个句子就是一个比较典型的状语从句。
可以翻译为：每隔一天，我就犯错，我也不想那么淘。
需要注意：一般来说，我们知道when, before, after等词引导状语从句。
但是，大多数表时间的名词也可以引导一个状语从句，如：The moment I heard the news, Ihastened to the spot.(我一听到消息，马上赶到了出事地点)。

注意理解语态
英语中的被动语态和虚拟语态也是理解中的一个难点问题。
比如：
I didn't know why you were misunderstood.就是一个被动语态，可以翻译为：我不知道为何，为何我要误解你。
Catching me in places that I knew I shouldn’t be.就是一个典型的虚拟语气，意思是“在我知道我本不应该去的地方把我逮住”。
总的来说，语法结构就象一条藤，把英语的词语象葡萄一样串联起来。
所以，要仔细的`理解英语，就必须要找出葡萄藤的主干(英语的主干或主句)和枝叶(英语的修饰或从句)。
在准确理解句子语法结构和逻辑结构的前提下，就具备了翻译的基本能力。
