有时，小朋友的兴趣可能持续的时间比较短，一首歌唱几遍也就不喜欢唱了，那么怎样能更好地调动孩子的兴趣呢？我们了解到一种更好的学习方法：英语音乐剧。
音乐剧，又称为歌舞剧，是把音乐、歌曲、舞蹈和对白融合到一起的一种表演形式，演员通过语言，音乐和动作来表达故事的内容和故事中人物的感情。比如，音乐之声、西区故事、悲惨世界等都是很优秀的音乐剧。
《音乐之声》这个经典的.音乐剧，后来还被拍成了电影，深受观众欢迎，里面有首非常经典的歌曲《雪绒花》，一直到如今，还有很多人传唱。
把音乐剧作为一种英语学习方式，我们可以将英语儿歌或童谣和舞蹈表演结合起来，让孩子在跳舞、表演的同时学唱英文儿歌。

寒假里，我给孩子们布置的英语作业是，学会四首儿歌。其中一首儿歌就是“ten little indian boys”.开学检查作业的时候，发现孩子们，连续唱四首歌曲，小脸上顿时出现了不耐烦的情绪，怎样调节学生们的情绪？我的脑海里顿时想起来现在很流行的一种音乐方式：“音乐话剧”。

孩子们个个蹦蹦跳跳的上讲台表演，表情是那么可爱，真像一个个的印第安小人。这时候，台下的孩子们也按捺不住自己的情绪，个个踊跃报名。20句的英语歌词就这样，在孩子们接连不断的报数声中，像一粒粒种子牢牢的种在了学生的心里。
新颁布的《英语课程标准》对儿童学儿歌也提出具体的目标和要求：一级（三、四年级）要求能唱简单的英文歌15-20首，说歌谣15-20首；二级（五、六年级）要求学生能表演歌曲或简单诗歌30-40首（含一级要求），能演唱英文歌曲30-40首。
也许一首儿歌，孩子很容易学会，但是数量多了，也许孩子就记不清楚了，特别是对于幼儿来说，如果配上动作表演，附和着音乐，编排成音乐剧的话，就会好学得多了。
就拿《音乐之声》中的几个小孩子来说吧。可爱的孩子们在比赛和客厅里演唱的《晚安，再见！》，几个孩子轮流说唱，动作是那么优雅，声音也是那么甜美，令人非常喜欢。
我们平时，在家里也可以很孩子一起编排这样的音乐剧，根据儿歌的旋律和歌词内容，设计动作，这样学英语能调动孩子的积极性，也比较有效果。正如米子舞老师所说：“孩子们喜欢唱歌，善于模仿，不怕重复。多数儿童乐感与节奏感较强，他们学一首歌往往比学一段话容易。”而音乐剧，避免了孩子单独来唱的单调和“不情愿”，一家人合作，或者几个孩子一起玩儿，既是游戏，也是学习。何乐而不为呢？
