今天，我参加了中央电视台希望之星英语风采大赛山东省德州赛区的复赛，可真谓难上加难，势比登天，真是上刀山下火海，难得不得了。但是即使这样，我也没灰心，反而振作了起来，用微笑和笑容迎接比赛。看着其他选手站在那里不知所措，紧张的不得了，我感觉他们真令人可悲。我相信，这些选手肯定在家练了不下百回，但到台上却瞠目结舌，“台词”也忘得一干二净了，只见他们站在那里，就像一个个泥雕，仿佛著名雕塑家罗丹的大作。但这不是比雕塑，而是比英语才能的发挥水平，比的是英语口语。我作为一名普通的选手，看着就感觉苦笑不得。

As we get to know people we take into account things like age, race, economic conditions, social positions and intelligence.
