什么是成功 What is Success?
What is the definition of success? I believe different people will have different opinions about it. If anyone asks me what is success for me, I will tell him progress is success for me. I can have small goal or great aim in my whole life. If the goal what I set is too large for me, I will not taste the feeling of success. Or I always set small goals, so I will feel success all the time, which may make me become autophilia and without ambitions. Therefore, I think if I can be better than yesterday or last time, then I am successful.
成功的定义是什么?我相信不同的人会有不同的看法。如果有人问我对我来说成功是什么，我会告诉他进步就是成功。在我的一生中我可以设定很多小的'或者大的目标。如果我定的目标对我来说太大了，我就尝不到成功的滋味。或者我设的目标太小了，这样我一直都会处于成功中，这也许会使我变得自恋没有雄心壮志。因此，我觉得要是我能够比昨天或者上一次好，这样我就算成功了。

spring set in early this year. some of my neighbors began to grow flowers. there were morning glories, jasmine, cactus, and the like in their flowerpots. i wanted to have a try myself. but i had neither knowledge nor eperience in such matters. fortunately, i came across a book on plants in the library. i read the relevant chapters, which left me with the impression that any plant would grow luuriantly if you could supply it with sufficient fertilizer and water. of these two essential factors, fertilizer was obviously by far the more important one.
according to what i had learnt from the hook, i sowed some seeds of morning glory in a flowerpot with a lot of fertilizer, and watered them everyday. i really took good care of them and eagerly awaited their sprouting. but,be that as it may,they just didn＇t come up. when half a month had elapsed,i was absolutely disappointed. i dug some of the seeds out of the soil and found they had already rotted! why they had rotted defied my analysis. so i went to consult one of my neighbors. he told me my failure was due to my misunderstanding of the hook, and the fact was that i had overfed themwater or fertilizer may be a two-edged sword.
i think i must draw a lesson from this failure——never go beyond the limit even if for good purpose.

Children's skills vary. Most parents fail to realize though,what children lack today is self-respect and self-confidence. The problem is that parents are only educating their children on how to take multiple choice tests and study well instead of the most important skills of being confident, happy and clever. Parents can achieve this by teaching practical skills like cooking, sewing and other housework. Cooking will improve many skills children need later in life. Though demanding patience and time, it is an enjoyable experience. A good cook always tries to improve his cooking,so he works hard and gradually finishes his job successfully.His result, a well-cooked dinner, will give him much satisfaction and a lot of self-confidence. Some old machines, such as a broken radio or TV set your child plays with will make him curious and arouse his interest.
He may spend hours looking at them, trying to fix them. These activities are not merely teaching a child to read a book, but rather to think, to use his mind. And that is more important.

Contrary to those people, many others think advertisements are very unpleasant. Consumers are often cheated by the false advertisement on which consumers always waste a great deal of time. 英语兴趣班的第一堂课是外教上的，我们总是捉弄外教，胡倩雯则是全班最大胆的。有次，她趁外教不注意，悄悄把铅笔盒往外教口袋里一塞，然后故意把全班同学的名字都报一遍，用怀疑的口气“试探”。最后她指着外教，用毋庸置疑的口气咬定是外教偷了她的铅笔盒。正当外教辩白时，她一把从外教口袋里抽出铅笔盒，疯疯癫癫地跳几下，喊着外教的名字：“IKE，您上当罗！”我们很快反应过来是胡倩雯的恶作剧，狂笑不止。
胡倩雯不止自己干傻事，还带领全班女生干傻事。在我们教室旁有一间废弃的'教师办公室，那里有许多老师们不要的，但在我们学生看来特别好玩的东西。只是那里虽然废弃，但也不允许学生自由进出，只有一些“傻学生”，才会鬼鬼祟祟地去那里。而胡倩雯，正是每次下课偷偷摸摸去那里找乐子的学生。有一次早上，胡倩雯不由分说地把我拽进那间办公室，我只好跟她干了一件很“傻”又很“危险”的事。我们找到一大盒橡皮泥，欣喜若狂地挑选了一段回教室。女生们见了，全然不顾“危机”，纷纷跑到废弃办公室拿橡皮泥。这件“傻事”，可是胡倩雯带头的。
“疯丫头” 胡倩雯为我们带来了不少欢乐，我们可喜欢她了，争相和她做好朋友呢！
