　　我的爷爷年近六旬，两鬓斑白，戴着一副眼镜。爷爷的英语特别好，周围的人都很羡慕他，可谁能知道他学英语付出了多少心血呢？

　　爷爷特别关心国家大事，自从中国加入世贸组织，中国人学英语的积极性空前高涨。正好社区里办了个英语补习班，爷爷便去报了名，他把这个秘密告诉了我，还叫我别跟别人说。我哈哈大笑说：“您学英语笑死人了。”爷爷却说：“一年后，咱们就比谁的.英语好，怎么样？”我爽快地说：“好！”但晚餐时，我却公开了这个消息。爸爸、妈妈、奶奶都捧腹大笑，奶奶说：“你呀！你呀！都这把年纪了，还学什么英语，传出去让人家笑落大门牙！”妈妈说：“您60多岁了，还有这样的雄心壮志？”爷爷沉默了一会儿，生气地说：“我国改革开放30多年来，许多外国人来中国，我外出旅游，碰上外国人，不就可以用英语和外国人交流吗？”爸爸见爷爷生气了，就说：“好！您去学吧！”爷爷学英语的劲头可足啦！每天早上6点前就起床，从练习读26个字母开始，再读记词组……有时把我给吵醒了，我便对爷爷说：“您怎么这么烦……”爷爷说：“你睡吧，我不吵了。”我想：您不吵谁信……早上，我和爷爷一起去买菜，爷爷边走，边念着ABC，旁边的人都望着我们俩笑，我满脸通红，就小声对爷爷说：“您别练了，别人还以为我俩是神经病呢！”爷爷却毫不在意地说：“怕什么，无所谓。”我只好离爷爷远一点了。晚上，我和爷爷一起睡，9点了，爷爷一直在读英语。我夜里起来上厕所时，睁开眼睛，一道刺眼的光向我射来，我一看手表：“呀！12点多了。”我催爷爷睡觉，他拿我没办法，只好睡觉了。

　　五六个月过去了，我想知道爷爷的英语学得怎么样，便偷偷地听他练习英语，爷爷讲的英语前面的我明白，可后面的我却一点也听不懂，只好去问他老人家，爷爷笑着对我说：“小子，你的英语不如我哩！”一年多过去了，爷爷的英语，让我没话好说了。

　　一、活动宗旨

　　英语写作水平是学生英语综合运用能力的集中体现，在中高考中占有十分重要的地位。为了提高全体学生对英语写作的认识与兴趣，为学有所长者提供展示才能的机会，为参加各层次的英语能力比赛选拔人才，为教师加强个别辅导和提高教学成绩创造机会，落实并彰显我校第二课堂活动特色，特举办我校第四届学生英语作文比赛。

　　二、参与对象

　　本校全体初、高中学生。

　　三、比赛规则

　　1、活动本着“自由思想，明白表达，独立完成”的原则。各年级老师针对本年级学生实际情况确定写作主题或体裁，要求内容健康，积极向上，写出自己的`真情实感。

　　2、每人在规定期间内现场完成一篇全英文写作，要求作品必须原创，杜绝抄袭，字数不少于150字（初中组）或300字（高中组）。

　　四、奖励方法

　　1、本次活动要求各班学生人人参与，之后每班选拔5名优秀选手代表班级参加现场作文比赛，由年级统一评比，设奖比率为一等奖20%，二等奖20%，三等奖20%，优秀奖若干名。

　　2、本次比赛活动由新世界康桥赞助，提供技术指导与奖状奖品。届时将在学校报告厅举行金岸中学第四届“康桥杯”英语作文大赛颁奖典礼暨英语沙龙。

　　3、组织部分优秀学生作品代表学校参加“第九届奥林匹克杯全国英语作文大赛”。获奖学生及指导老师均会获得相关荣誉奖励。

　　五、日程安排：

　　1、20xx年3月26日（第七周星期三）各班动员学生积极参加第四届“康桥杯”英语作文大赛，并组织学生参加班级的英语写作选拔赛，以确定代表班级参加学校第四届英语作文现场比赛的选手名单。

　　2、20xx年4月2日（第八周星期三）每班选派5人于下午5:10---6:00在报告厅参加现场英语写作比赛，由科组统一装订后分发年级老师交叉评分（采用二评，初中15分制，高中25分制）。

　　3、4月9日（第九周星期三）各年级组统计比赛成绩，确定获奖等次，并将作文及名单汇总于科组整理备奖。

　　4、4月25日下午5:10（第十一周星期五第八节课）在报告厅举行颁奖典礼暨英语沙龙活动。

　　5、4月30日（第十二周星期三）按第九届奥林匹克杯全国英语作文大赛要求上交参赛作品并邮寄（电子版）。

　　附：20xx学年全校各年级参赛名额分配如下：

　　1、第七届国际英语电视大赛：初一20人；高一6人

　　2、20xx国际英语精英赛：初二18人；高二6人
