Many high school graduates wrongly assume that university life is totally free from worries. After a period of serious and solemn study in senior three， the hard beavers expect to take a break and develop some habits. However， many may find later that the situation may be beyond their anticipation.
I've tried to convince the adults around that the image they have of my university life as a free and unrestrained one is some what misunderstanding. In reality， school life is so busy that I sometimes wonder if my energy is enough.
About my first year in college， my life is mainly made up of two parts， study and practice. As a student， the main task is study. In order to gain a high GPA， I have to get used to the college life style and begin a new pursue in study. It is the learning method that shows off most of the differences between senior study and college study. ! have a roommate who goes out to have lessons in the morning and comes back in the evening after the self-study classroom is closed. The peers' behaviors make me feel under pressure. In university， one% view of life is integrally formed and strengthened. I begin to program my future plan and realize that study itself is an affair for me. The more courses I learn by heart， the more maturity I get. University education ensures students of better jobs. I usually reckon that time consuming on study is worthwhile as it bears such important events as occupation， career and responsibility.
To some extent， study and practice are intertwined， and they begin from the very start of freshman year. Student Union enjoys almost complete acceptance. It is a place where one can get his ability trained， have his competence applied and make a lot of friends who share the same interests with him. But sometimes， social activities and practices are time consuming， what's more， the sense of responsibility also requires you to make effort to fulfill the task.
No one starts in one's present position all along that it was what he or she wants to do. Sometimes， the chance will just lead you down some unforeseen trail only if you have a prepared mind. My first year in college is not relaxed， but all way along is full of curiosity and satisfaction.

A recent survey analyzed the change in number of film-goers and TV watchers in X city. As is shown by the graph, there has been a sharp decline in the number of film-goers during the period from 1992 to 20xx, adding up to 20,000 in 20xx. On the other hand, the number of TV watchers has steadily increase in the last decade, reaching 150,000 in 20xx. Finally, it is interesting to note that there were as many film-goers as TV watchers in year 1998.
There might be two reason, I think, for the change. Firstly, TV is not only a convenient source of entertainment, but a comparatively cheap one. There is no point in arranging transport. And one needn’t pay for expensive seats at the cinema. Secondly, TV makes it possible for one to keep track of current events and the latest developments in science and technology. As a consequence, most people prefer to stay at home, watching TV, rather than go out to the cinema, which wastes both time and money.
Personally, there are still a lot of people who enjoy watching films. They argue that the film is a fascinating form of art. Sitting comfortably in the cinema, one can appreciate the latest movies, which will usually be shown on TV far later on. Therefore, I trust the number of film-goers will be on the rise in the future.

英语高分作文杀手锏—三段四步法
中考英语阅卷老师看写作主要有三个标准：
1）结构 2）内容要点 3）语言（词组搭配、句型、句式变化、过渡词）看结构和内容要点定分数档，看语言给成绩。这是中考英语阅卷的潜规则。
三段四步法——中考英语满分杀手锏
知己知彼，方能百战不殆，既然中考阅卷流程和内部标准已经明朗化，相对的策略也就顺利成章的形成了。现在和大家分享，笔者教学和阅卷过程中总结创立的写作满分秘诀。
1 “三段”（三个段落）——针对的阅卷老师先看文章结构和内容要点，让阅卷老师不得不给你定位一类文。
中高考情景是作文，无论是那种文体，都可以用三段法来表示。这个方法的起源是来自美国的“高考”SAT考试，（SAT是美国或它国学生想要申请美国大学必须参加的考试，故被叫过美国的高考）。
我们管这样的文章叫做Hamburger Writing(汉堡写作)
2 “四步”，有了框架就相当于有了骨骼，而真正的血肉要靠四个步骤来实现。
步骤一：审题
审题的训练对于每个学生都不陌生，我要说的是审题一定要做到五个方面：一审主题（写什么），二审体裁（记叙、说明、议论、夹叙夹议），三审时态（时态中考两个扣一分，三个降一档），四审人称（别犯低级错误），五审内容要点（一定要在试卷中画出，免得写的时候忘记，导致跑题）
步骤二：打草稿
中考一定要打草稿，两大优势
1中考不准在试卷更改，涂改带、橡皮、胶条（囧）、小刀（我小时候想都没想过），而中考时落笔错误是难免的'，涂改就会后卷面分，打草稿就可以避免这个情况了。
2 正式写作是对草稿的在梳理，语言的在锤炼。
步骤三：正文写作
做到两点，一要凝练，而要变化。文章80—100字为宜，一定要注意使用过渡词、从句、50个句型和词组搭配。
步骤四：检查：
很多学生考试都会检查，但总是不能找到自己的错误。原因很简单，方法不对：

1 内容要点：缺少一个内容要点，文章直接降到第三档
2 语法错误：名词查单复数和冠词问题，动词查时态语态和三单问题。
3 变换句式：过于简单的结构要试着变化

Imagining being asked to spend twelve or so years of your life in a society which consisted only of members of own sex. How would you react? Unless there was something definitely wrong with you, you wouldn’t be too happy about it, to say the least. It is all the more surprising therefore that so many parents in the world choose to impose such abnormal conditions on their children – conditions which they themselves wouldn’t put up with for one minute!
Any discussion of this topic is bound to question the aims of education. Stuffing children’s heads full of knowledge is far from being foremost among them. One of the chief aims of educations is to equip future citizens with all they require to take their place in adult society. Now adult society is made up of men and women, so how can a segregated school possibly offer the right sort of preparation for it? Anyone entering adult society after years of segregation can only be in for a shock.
A co-educational school offers children nothing less than a true version of society in miniature. Boys and girls are given the opportunity to get to know each other, to learn to live together from their earliest years. They are put in a position where they can compare themselves with each other in terms of academic ability, athletic achievement and many of the extra-curricular activities which are part of school life. What a practical advantage it is ( to give just a small example ) to be able to put on a school play in which the male parts will be taken by boys and the female parts by girls! What nonsense co-education makes of the argument that boys are cleverer than girl or vice-versa. When segregated, boys and girls are made to feel that they are a race apart. Rivalry between the sexes is fostered. In a coeducational school, everything falls into its proper place.
But perhaps the greatest contribution of co-education is the healthy attitude to life it encourages. Boys don’t grow up believing that women are mysterious creatures – airy goddesses, more like book-illustrations to a fairy-tale, than human beings. Girls don’t grow up imagining that men are romantic heroes. Years of living together at school dispel illusions of this kind. There are no goddesses with freckles, pigtails, piercing voices and inky fingers. There are no romantic heroes with knobbly knees, dirty fingernails and unkempt hair. The awkward stage of adolescence brings into sharp focus some of the physical and emotional problems involved in growing up. These can better be overcome in a co-educational environment. Segregated schools sometimes provide the right conditions for sexual deviation. This is hardly possible under a co-educational system. When the time comes for the pupils to leave school, they are fully prepared to enter society as well-adjusted adults. They have already had years of experience in coping with many of the problems that face men and women.

Annual Cycles of the Traffic Accident of a City
Traffic accidents are one of the most serious problems in modern cities. Many people have lost their lives every year.
The two graphs show the comparison of traffic accident cycles in a city for the past two years (20xx and 20xx). In each graph, the arrow indicates the annual average point for each traffic accident. The chart for 20xx tells us that most traffic accidents happened in December, while early spring(March) has a relatively higher percent. Traffic accidents decrease from April to October, and July has the lowest percentage of traffic accidents for 20xx.
In 20xx, the low points lasted for five months, from May,to September. The yearly peak of accidents was in February.In comparison with that in 20xx, the percentage of peak points decreased by 30%. The variation between monthly traffic accident percentages is much less than that of 20xx.
