　　经过半天时间的训练，我大有长进，但是这篇文章是要背下来的，所以我还得再加把劲才行，“Jack lied with his mother……” 一阵阵大人与小孩的声音从303房传出。

　　There are many causes for this change. For one thing, computers can do a lor of things that may be difficult for man to do, making man's work easier. So, many people turn to computers for help when they want to have their job done. For another, computers are becoming cheaper day by day. As a result, many universities install them in large numbers and many families can afford to buy one, consequently, they are always available for the students to use. But the prime reason, I think, is that with the development of society, computers are used in ahnost all walks of life. Those who are specialized in operating computers are badly needed. If a student is good at computer, chances will be greater for him to get a job.

　　Many problems also arise in students use of computers. One problem is that some students spend too much time sitting in front of their computers, as a result, their bealth is affected. The other problem is that some students chat or play video games for a long time on computers, wasting a lot of their precious time. So it is suggested that these students make a scientific and positive use of the computers.

　　英语作为国际通用语，其重要地位越来越得到大家的共识。因为，“我们不能忽视一个巨人的存在”（英国某语言专家语）。所以，我们要下定决心，排除万难，掌握英语。而构建你英语大厦的基础，就是词汇。

　　1．词汇学习的重要性。英语能力培养程序：词汇-语法-听-说-读-写。英语高分训练程序：词汇-读-写。这两套程序是语言学和认知学研究的成果，次序千万不能颠倒。词汇是基础，是素材，是细胞，不要指望词汇基本功不扎实的人能够考出高分；阅读是中国人学习外语的最佳途径，也是目前各类外语考试的最主要题型；写作是掌握外语，检验自己水平的最主要方式。有兴趣的人可以参考这方面的专著。

　　2。词汇的学习最困难。如果有人说不，他保证是“唯心主义”。那既然如此，有无捷径？这儿就有一条捷径，穿越时空隧道，到达梦幻之境。词汇的学习要以变应变，在不同的阶段，要有不同的方法。想一想你是如何记住f ace 和pencil的？死记硬背，“无他法，唯手熟尔”（卖油翁）。所以，从原理上来说，词汇的学习离开死记硬背是不行的，因为，外语的学习要点在于记忆，死记硬背好比打基础，离开了他，毫无大厦可言。如果你的词汇量在5 000以下，买一本词汇书，词汇量在3000（背功不行）5000（背功还行）7500（背功很好）。选择标准有三：1。有音标；2 有词性；3 内容简单，没有例句。你是如何记住facial, surface, deface; acclaim, declaim, proclaim 的？因为你知道-face- ,-claim-的意义。所以，词根词缀法是你学习词汇第二阶段的方法。词根词缀法的意义我就不多说了，你是如何记住flagrant 和fragrant的？因为你知道-l-(一根大棒),-r-(一朵鲜花)，所以他们的意义就井然分明了。联想记忆法是你学习词汇第三阶段的方法。唯有联想，才能强力扩大词汇范围。联想记忆法有时也叫做邪门记忆法，这方面的书很多。

　　3 . 如何运用词典扩大词汇量。关于辞典。词汇的`学习离不开词典，如何选用她至关重要。我做一个Prediction ，70%的人用的是牛津和朗文。但是你如果看一下英语专业的考试大纲的话，你会发现，COLLINS COBUILD 和 WEBSTER’S COLLEGE DICTIONARY 才是最好的工具书。我用的就是后者。为什么要推荐这俩本呢？1、释义详细，简练；2、提高词汇在上下文的理解能力；3、后者还提供词源，方便理解与记忆。

　　4. 词汇量大对阅读的帮助。阅读有三个层次：字面意义，行间意义，言外之意。试题考察的比例一般为2：2：1。字面意义不必多说，对于行间意义和言外之意的理解，需要高超的技巧，一般的阅读书上都有，在此我提一下篇章结构的作用。篇章结构对于解答行间意义和言外之意的提问特别有效。
