　　自从我被送到少年宫学习英语后，我的英语水平逐渐提高了。那是我第一次举手发言——我费劲心思练习读好了一篇英语课文后，十分想朗读给老师和同学们听听，但我又没有这样的勇气。原本我是想放弃，可是如果就这样白白浪费一次机会，那可多不划算呀。这可是表现自我的一次大好机会。经过心里的一番思想斗争，我的手终于举起来了！此时，我的心都快紧张得要蹦出来啦！突然，少年宫的老师叫我起来读课文，当时我吓了一跳。我慢慢的地尝试着让我的`身体离开椅子。当我开始滔滔不绝地朗读课文时，我的害怕、顾虑都抛到九霄云外了。待我坐下后，我为自己捏了一把冷汗。此刻，我的心情依然平静不下来。我想：我这次在全班同学面前一定出丑了！不料，老师点了点头，脸上露出满意的笑容。我心里沉重的大石头终于放下了！我不禁沉寂在欢乐和喜悦之中。因为这是我第一次迈向英语成功的步伐。自从这次的发言后，我对自己更加有信心了。快要期末时，我还代表我们班（少年宫的）参加了“英语口语大赛”。那次比赛，我发挥出了我最好的水平。虽说没有拿到好的名次，但这也是一种自我的挑战。

　　经历过这么多，我真正地感悟到一句话：万事开头难啊！但我只要努力去学习英语的话，我就一定能攀登上英语的高峰！
