　　我的弟弟名叫郭亭杉，今年4岁半，在上幼儿园。他长着圆圆的`脑袋，大大的眼睛，活泼好动，顽皮可爱，大家都叫他“淘气包”。

　　My brother, Guo Tingshan, is 4 and a half years old. He is in kindergarten. He has a round head, big eyes, lively, naughty and lovely, everyone calls him "naughty bag".

　　有一次，他让妈妈给他买一个玩具，妈妈没有答应。他立刻皱起眉头，掘着嘴巴，拿起桌上的皮球，用力的向窗户上砸去，生气的妈妈正准备找他算账，淘气的他却笑嘻嘻的溜走了。

　　On one occasion, he asked his mother to buy him a toy, but her mother did not agree. Immediately he frowned, dug his mouth, picked up the ball on the table and smashed it hard against the window. His angry mother was ready to settle accounts with him, but the naughty man laughed and slipped away.

　　“The classmates, hello! ”英语老师Candy走上讲台热情地向同学们问好。“Hi，Candy。”同学们也热情地回应Candy。随后Candy从旁边的袋子里拿出了一摞卡片，说：“我们来玩个游戏，怎么样！”Candy话音刚落，同学们就一阵欢呼雀跃。Candy摆摆手示意同学们安静，“现在我说一下游戏规则，一会儿我会念出一个单词中的音标和剩下的字母，然后你们进行抢答，抢答的最多而且又正确的同学会有奖励哦!但前提是不准翻书，你们能做到吗？”“能!”同学们齐声答道。“那好，游戏现在开始。第一个单词是由两个音标组成的，第一个音标是清辅音tr，第二个音标是ee，大家猜猜看这是什么单词。”下面立刻有人举手了，Candy示意他回答，他毫不犹豫的回答道：“tree。”“不错。”Candy满意的笑了笑。就这样快乐的过了35分多钟，突然有人举手，说：“老师，马上就要下课了，我们还没有上过课呢。”“我们就是在上课啊，我们通过游戏的方式学会了音标这一课。”Candy解释道，“现在还有点时间，我们再学几个新单词吧！”“好。”“第一个单词是ArmyDay，意思是建军节。你们如果记不牢也可以暂时理解为‘Amy的父亲’。第二个单词是the New Year’s eve，意思是除夕节。这个单词比较长，你们可以这样记，单词中‘New Year’s’的'意思是新年，新年要过什么节呀，当然是除夕节喽！第三个单词是···只听‘嗝’的一声，Candy打了个饱嗝，同学们都哈哈大笑起来，最后连Candy自己也笑了出来（332），一节英语课就在Candy和同学们的欢乐声中结束了。

Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

　　It is noticeable that levels of poverty were higher for single people than for couples, and people with children were more likely to be poor than those without. Poverty rates were considerably lower among elderly people.

　　Overall, 11% of Australians, or 1,837,000 people, were living in poverty in 1999. Aged people were the least likely to be poor, with poverty levels of 6% and 4% for single aged people and aged couples respectively.

　　Just over one fifth of single parents were living in poverty, whereas only 12% of parents living with a partner were classed as poor. The same pattern can be seen for people with no children: while 19% of single people in this group were living below the poverty line, the figure for couples was much lower, at only 7%.(150 words, band 9)
