　　i spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. i used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation i simply could not afford to do so. i would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations. though those examinations were still a year away, i had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things i had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. at first i was rather dismayed at the thought of thise. with this in mind i then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. i was not at all bored by this kind of life, for i was sustained by a hope.

Of course, I wished I could reach at his level. Since we talked all day long, I asked how he could solve those difficult questions. 　　每当我们上英语课的时候，老师就会教授我们丰富的知识。我越来越喜欢英语了，因为在英语学习中我找到了许多乐趣。首先是记单词的乐趣。以前我最痛恨记单词，那么多单词像一锅粥似的搅在一块儿，根本分不清谁是谁。有时是和汉语拼音混淆在一起；有时是单词之间互相混淆，把这个单词记成另一个单词；更糟糕的是，我根本不知道自己在拼什么。可是，自从我学习了音标后，我就发现了许多记单词的窍门，比如，许多发音是由固定单词拼写而成的。比如ph发[f]的音，C常发[k]的.音。有了学习方法，我觉得英语学习轻松又有趣。它不仅使我多学了一门语言，更为我开启了一扇通往异域文化的大门。
