　　My Home TownMy home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

　　十二月二十二号，我和五个同学一起来到四眼碶中学参加英语比赛。

　　我们是第三个表演，原本非常自信，可看了前两个表演后，顿时，成了一个个泄了气的气球。就说第二个表演吧，他们演的是英文的“三打白骨精”。内容很多，也非常幽默，原本书中写的是悟空外出时，唐僧等人在原地休息，而表演的的同学们却改编成了在原地打扑克。这让全场的.评委老师和同学都笑了起来。我们也哈哈大笑。不一会儿就到我们了。

　　我们径直走上舞台，快速布置起来。布置完背景后，我按照自己的稿子认真地念了起来。在警察出场时，闹了一个小笑话。我的旁白还没有念完时，警察就出来了。这也注定了我们的分数会下降。表演完了后，我们下场欣赏别的同学的表演了。

　　我看了接下来的表演，有的表演《狐狸偷肉》，有人表演《小红帽》，还有人表演《狐假虎威》等经典的故事，我觉得我们最多只能拿最后一名，所以在心里下定了决心要好好学习英语，成为英语小能手。

　　比赛虽然结束了，但我一定要好好学英语。

Any one solving the riddle is awarded a prize. And the food for lantern festival is Tang Yuan, i have made some Tang Yuan in a ginger soup, my wife got a serious cold, so i cooked a pot of ginger soup for her.
