　　english has been getting more and more popular in the last decade. many countries have made english taught as the second language in schools. but why do students need english? if they do need, what do they need it for?

　　different students learn english for different purposes. most of the students learn english because they need to read english textbooks or journals and attend english lectures, while a few students use it to talk to english-speaking visitors, attend seminars, or write letters and reports.

　　whatever the purposes are, one thing is certain: students need english, and english teaching should be strengthened in universities. however, the current teaching methods should be improved and the teaching materials should be updated to satisfy their needs.

If both of us refuse to budge, the problem would not be solved. Sometimes we need to change our life attitude; sometimes we need to change our views of seeing things; sometimes we need to tolerant; sometimes we need to be strong. 　　她，中等身材，常穿着一身大方又漂亮的衣服。她，总喜欢扎着一根马尾辫，额头上有着几丝浅浅的皱纹，在她月牙似的眉毛下长着一双大眼睛，炯炯有神，好像谁上课做一点小动作都逃不过她的眼睛，和蔼可亲的脸上挂着一丝甜甜的微笑。她就是我们的英语老师——徐老师。

　　徐老师很严厉，上课时，读错一个单词要再读三遍。背课文时，背错了要重新再背。默写时，默错一个单词要重默十遍。下课时，又布置一大堆作业让我们回家写。有时，我经常埋怨徐老师：“布置那么多作业，一点休息的`时间也没有。”

　　可徐老师在学习方法上很有一套，她经常会给我们发一张小纸条，小纸条上面印的是每个单元的重点。每天回家，妈妈都会按照小纸条上的内容帮我复习。上课时，老师也会经常给我们默单词。有一次，我默错了一个单词，交给老师时，老师说：“这个单词应这样记：T和H发S的音……你把这个单词先读三遍，然后再抄十遍。”我心里想，抄那么多遍干什么，我又不是不会。过了几天，老师又给我们听写了，这次我“刷刷刷”很快就把所有的单词都默出来了，“太好了，竟然得了100分。”我开心的叫了起来。那时，我并不知道，这都是徐老师的功劳啊！

　　功夫不负有心人，直到学期快要结束时，我才能知道徐老师为什么这样做，她是在为我们不断地巩固已学过的的知识，真正做到记住单词，找准发音，使每个同学能在考试中取得比较好的成绩。

　　这就是我们的徐老师。在她严历而又柔和的目光里，享受着学习的快乐。
