暑假里我看了马克吐温著的《威尼斯的小艇》，其中短篇小说《百万英镑》是一部很好的作品，读了它使我感触很深。
《百万英镑》是讲一个贫穷、诚实的人，也就是这个故事的主人公收到了一对兄弟的信，信里装着百万英镑。原来这对兄弟打了一个赌，赌如果一个贫穷、诚实的人收到天上掉下的一百万英镑，他会有怎样的结果?哥哥认为他会饿死，因为他无法证明这些钱是他自己的，而且会受到别人的怀疑，就连银行都不会让他存钱。弟弟却认为他会过得很好。于是他们兄弟俩将一百万英镑的支票借给了这个贫穷又诚实又聪明的人，并出国呆了一个月。没想到在这段时间里，人们对这位突然暴富的`罕见富翁，竟拼命地拉拢他，从免费吃饭，买衣服，到免费住宿，一个个像乞丐一样讨好他，并不断提高他的社会地位，一直到了除王室外最高的公爵之上!不光如此，他还得到了一位好妻子和三万英镑的银行利息，最后还从两兄弟那儿得到了一份很好的工作，过着非常非常幸福的生活。
看到这儿，我很羡慕这位如此“幸运”的主人公，真希望能和他一样幸运，但我又转念一想：人们之所以讨好他，还不是因为当时人们太看重金钱了吗?拜金主义是可耻的，不劳而获更不应该!金钱不是万能的，世界上还有许多比金钱更重要的东西——良心和品德……

我叫孟家玥，是一个有耐心的学生，这里的耐心是指有一次文哲在训练老师给我吩咐我一个任务让我给他们说一下作业。文哲突然让我给想起了一个事情，让我去帮她值班我就去了我一直等到六点半我才走了，这就是我比较有耐心的学生，对于我来说英语这方面我比我们班里的每一个人都了解，我还知道在国际音标里的元音有多少个，辅音有多少个……这些我都已经会背了。假如这次我竞选英语课代表竞选成功的话，我都会用一颗平常的心，温柔的心来对待。有了“宽容之心”，我才使胸怀宽广，虚怀若谷，虚心接受同学的意见乐于帮助他人，只有把英语搞好这才是最关键的。如果我这次竞选能成功的话我一定要把我以前坏的毛病去改一改，无论竞选成功还是没有成功我都会去改的。我要给同学们做一个好的榜样。
对待英语课上的说话，跑坐位。我又该如何做呢？首先，我认为上英语课必须要做到每个人管好自己，这是大关键，我觉得我制定的'实施方案是可以的。 也许有时候我的胆子可能小了点，但是我相信有了同学们对我的信任，我一定会改掉自己的缺点，从而完善我以前的面目。

Today we met at the bus stop early in the morning.
When we were on the bus, we saw a lot of new buildings and new shops.Beijing was taller than before, I thought.
It took us about two hours to get to the Great Wall. When the Great Wall appeared in front of us, we couldn' , t help thinking how wonderful it is! I wondered how the people in the past built it without modem machines.
It is said you can see it from the space.I was proud of it.
After coming home I made up my mind to study harder than before.
