Our class held a discussion about whether music should be played during the break or not .The opinions are divided .Most of the students think that music should be played. As we know, music can produce a lively and happy atmosphere. Besides , after hard study , music can bring us relaxation , which reduces the tiredness. This can help us make full preparations for the next class. Listening to music also makes us feel happy . On the other hand , some students don’t think so. In their opinion , they can’t get the expected effect from playing music , for the class break time is too short .What is needed most during the class break is peace instead of noise produced by music .In my opinion , it is good to play some soft and peaceful music instead of loud music during the class break. It’s a great honor for me to bring you a brief introduction about the Electric Power and Energy in China.
Maybe 15 years ago when I just graduated from my primary school, I had to study in a candle at night and my friend had to suffer from the hot weather in the city in summer, because we are facing a very serious problem as you are facing now, the shortage of the electricity as a result of the repaid development of the society.
But by now this problem has been solved. China has been the largest energy producing and consuming country. In 20xx, we have consumed about 4 billion ton standard coal of all kind of energy, and about 5,550 billion kWh of electricity. We have successfully solved this problem because by years construction of power plants, we have 1.4 billion kW of installed capacity now. By 20xx, 20xx, and 20xx, the tota
l install capacity will be about 2 billion, 2.4 billion and 3.6 billion kW, respectively. But this has brought us another serious problem, the serious atmosphere pollution.
Just as I mentioned, China consumes about 4 billion ton standard coal of all kinds of energy, the thing is that 70% of this number is real coal. In the energy structure, coal has been taking a leading position in a very long time. Thus, the percentage of high-quality energy, such as oil and gas, and clean energy is very low, and the level of electrification is not high. We are trying to modify the structure of the energy consumption. Take Beijing, who has been suffering the most serious atmosphere pollution, as an example, is closing all of its 4 large coal-fired power plants by 20xx, and these will be replaced by gas-fired power plant.
In order to realistic the sustainable development of energy, as well as deal with the air pollution problem, Chinese government has published many policies to encourage the development of renewable energy, namely hydropower, wind power, solar power, etc. In 20xx renewable energy will account for 20% of China’s electricity consumption, and 15% of all kinds of energy; In 20xx, this proportion will increase to 30% and 20%; and by 20xx, this percentage will be 50% and 30%.
So what do we have to achieve that goalWe have about 540,000 MW of technical capacity of hydropower, and by 20xx, we have developed about 300,000
MW; we have more than 2 billion kW of onshore wind power potential capacity, and by 20xx, we have developed 100,000MW; we have more than 3 billion kW of solar power potential capacity if we are going to use 5% of the desert and we have by now developed 5,000MW. We have the largest hydropower install capacity, the largest wind power install capacity as well as the solar power capacity in the world for years. We are moving forward to our goal step by step. As a request of the scientific develop of renewable energy, China has 13 large hydropower generation bases, which add up to 320,000 MW, planned by HYDROCHINA; China has more than 8 wind power bases, each capacity of which can be more than 1000MW.
Having solved the sustainable development and air pollution problem, we have to face other problems. The coal, hydro, wind and solar resources distribute mostly in the north, southwest, and west of China, but the load center is in east and south part of China. So we must face the problem of long-distance transmission of electricity, just as you are facing now. And as a result of the seasons and weather changes, hydropower and wind power must cooperate with the coal-fired power. We have built and operated lots of power grid, and have made many trials to stabilize the grid, and have eventually successfully solved these problems.
What I’m going to say is that, we have been through the problems you are facing now, and we have gain experience from both good and bad sides. We have the ability and confidence to help you solve your problem, to give you the successful experience but not the same fault we have made. That’s why we are here today, please have confidence in us just as we do, and embrace a bright future!

Gender Inequality in Employment of College Graduates Though people's concept of gender has changed a lot gender inequality in some cases still exists. I will mainly express my opinions on gender inequality in employment of college graduates in this passage. It is generally acknowledged that college graduates are confronted with heavy pressure of seeking jobs in China. However it is more difficult for female graduates to seek a good job because of the social discrimination.There is no denying that female job-seekers are treated unequally when they apply for most of the jobs such as computer programmers drivers factory workers and so on. There are numerous reasons accounting for this phenomenon. Above all compared with male graduates female graduates are concerned to have inevitable physical weaknesses. In addition women have to give birth to babies one day they get married consequently they need a maternity leave for several months which certainly makes less profit for the company. As far as I am concerned women can do as good as men even better than men therefore women shouldn't be treated unequally. The government can take measures to improve this situation in the meanwhile the society and companies should also give equal opportunities to female graduates and male graduates. If this discrimination can be eliminated our society will be bound to be better.
