My thoughts on the old man and the sea A man is not made for defeat, a man can be destroyed but not defeated. This sentence has lingered in my mind since I finished the book The Old Man and the Sea In the face of fighting with this huge marlin, the old man did not release the fishing line in his hands for three days and nights, and the old man did not flinch when confronted with attack of sharks, but decided to pick up the wooden stick in the hands to defend their own harvest.
Such a tough guy image suddenly highlighted in front of me, which made me admire him and cheer for his b mind. Challenge is of course nowhere in the present life. We need to learn from the old man who with a brave heart, in the face of challenges clenched his fist, rather than yield, avoid, and give up. In the boundless sea, the old man was sitting alone in the little sailing boat, and seemed so small under the setting sun in the distance, extraordinarily slim.
But the old man hadn’t caught one fish since 84days ago. In t such situation, the old man was still optimistic, looking at the sun rise and set, watching the looming moon, and enjoying the company of fish and birds, and talking with wind and water. He just became one part of the sea. The sea, kind and beautiful, finally gave the old man a big marlin but the ocean was also cruel- lots of sharks came flooding to rob the fish, trying beating the old man and crushing his glory. The old man"s loneliness and happy were associated with the sea, through whom, the author enthusiastically praise the human’s bravery when facing hardships. So no matter how difficult the things are, we all can"t give up ourselves.

I’m Hua from Beijing Hongxing Middle School. I’m very happy to learn that you’re going to stay with my family while you’re in Beijing.
While you are here, we’ll provide you with a room of your own with a bed, a desk, a couple of chairs and a TV. You’ll also have your own bathroom. Our school is quite close to our home, so we could go to school together by bike. At noon we’ll eat at the school dining hall. I’m sure you’ll like the delicious Chinese food there, and enjoy talking with friends over lunch. Classes in our school usually finish at 4 in the afternoon. You can then join other students in playing ball games or swimming. It’ll be a lot of fun.

Our homes are filled with energy that we create and allow to flourish. In many cases, our relationship with the pulse of our homes is passive rather than active because we do not pay particular heed to the energy that has been established. It is only when we regard these spaces as unique entities that we begin to understand why it is necessary to take charge of the energy that fills our homes. Stagnant, inharmonious energy can find its way into our dwellings through many avenues. Previous occupants, builders, visitors, and the individuals who maintain a home leave a strong energy imprint behind. Objects and symbols can also have an effect on the energy of a residence. When we are aware of all that can influence the energy of our spaces, we are empowered to create harmonious homes that do more than meet our need for shelter.
Exercising care with regard to who and what we invite into our homes is one of the easiest ways we can ensure that the energy within remains loving and supportive. It is not always possible to keep potentially harmful people and possessions from entering our homes, but we can take precautions. Individuals can be kept from private spaces like bedrooms and meditation areas, while property can be purified through cleansing or smudging. During periods of remodeling or construction, Reiki symbols and other positive imagery can be printed on surfaces that will later be covered by walls or flooring. Though hidden, these will continue to attract good energy and cleanse the existent energy. Blessings can also be drawn in plain sight, where they remind us of how potently our homes energy can affect our own.

And as far as l am concerned, optimists and pessimists has three distinct characteristics:
permanence , pervasiveness and personalization . Firstly, optimists believe that luck is permanent , but the pessimistic person is just the opposite , they believe that bad luck is permanent, good luck is temporary. Similarly ,the pessimist says the worst thing is universal at the same time ,optimists think bad things always have a specific reason. Above all, optimistic people will care about the intrinsic effort redundant external luck. So under these factors, people who is optimistic will get more surprise from live than pessimists, and they can live a happier live than people who is pessimistic.
But how to overcome pessimism? I have some suggestions:
1. Read some positive information from the world, believe that as long as you stick to your dream and then you can win.
2. Sport everyday. You can take away your sad by doing some sports such as: running 、football or basketball and so on.
3. Live a regular life
Finally, we should overcome our pessimistic attitude and make our life more and more beautiful.
