　　instead, he pulled down his hat and pretended not to have seen him. a few minutes later, a policeman stopped him and asked if he had seen a man with a tv set and a recorder pass by. mt. smith answered that he hadn t. the policeman, however, soon caught the thief. when mr. smith got home, he was surprised to see that it was his own things that had been stolen.

　　成功举办这次活动可不容易。要知道，老师们为此辛辛苦苦地筹备。同学们也不例外：大家都忙着购买“红毯战袍”，妈妈还特意为我准备了一套“诸葛亮古袍”。

　　英语节那天，同学们有的穿蜘蛛侠，有的穿皮卡丘，还有的穿自己“制作”的衣服。不少同学为此“撞衫”。意想不到的是，我穿的.三国军师服居然也会撞衫……于是，早自习变成了自我展示秀，许多同学在炫耀自己的服装；于是，早锻炼也成为了“舞会”：所有学生与自己身后的人手拉手跳舞。有男女跳，有女与女跳，甚至还有男与男跳，大家其乐融融，非常开心。当然，当天上课照常，虽然同学还在走回味走红毯的激动，但没有人像老僧入定一样发呆，影响学习。

But soon after I got off the plane, I knew all was but my illusion. If I had to use one wordto describe it, nothing but “grey” will fulfil the task. As far as your eyes could see, all was covered in dust and haunted by air pollution.

　　Though it was the first time I had been to the North part of China, I was still surprised by the sharp contrast between the South and North. It wasn't hearsay.
