　　To the ordinary Chinese， the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year‘s Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. But the 15th of the first month， which normally is called the Lantern Festival， means the official end of the Spring Festival in many parts of the country.

　　Early in the morning I was woken up by the loud explosions of firecrackers coming from far and near. After getting up I went out of my resident building to set off some fireworks. Following a loud explosion, a fire ball rose high up, illuminating the whole sky and bursting into the shape of a colorful flower. I got excited. What a ! By the time the sun rose up in the east, the air was full of the smell of gunpowder. I suddenly realized that the air was heavily polluted, for which I felt sorry but it was really a great fun!
