　　May 18th,Wednesday, Sunny

　　After school this afternoon, on my way home I met two American friends who lost their way. They forgot the way to the hotel where they stayed. As I knew where the hotel was, I decided to take them there. On the road, we talked a lot. I told them about the great changes in the city,such as the wider road, the more convenient transportation, the fresher air and so on. I also introduced that now Chinese students needn't spend most of their time on textbooks any more, because they didn't have as much homework as before. In their spare time, they could choose whatever they like to learn. The American friends told me something about the American youth as well.

　　It was late when I got home, but I was very happy. Because I not only helped American friends, but also realized the importance of learning a foreign language well.

　　今天下午在放学回家的路上，我遇见两个迷路的'美国朋友。他们忘记了去他们住的旅馆的路。我知道那家旅馆在哪儿，所以我决定给他们带路。在路上，我们谈了很多。我介绍了家乡的巨大变化，比如马路更宽敞了，交通更方便了，空气更新鲜了等等。我还介绍说现在中国学生不必再把大部分时间花在课本上，因为他们的作业不像以前那么多了。在空闲时间里，他们可以选择任何喜欢的东西来学习。美国朋友也告诉了我一些美国年轻人的情况。

　　July 2 is my grand father's birthday. On that day, all of my families will get together to celebrate his birthday. This year was the same. My uncles and aunt came back from other cities. It was so alive that my grand parents were very happy. This year, I made a surprise for my grand father. I cooked a dish for him. As I never cooked before, he was so surprised as well as exciting. My grand father said that it was the best birthday gift he received. I was glad to make grand father happy. Actually, I had practiced for several days before that day. My mum was my cooking teacher.
