第一、仿写句子。就是将句子中的关键词用其它同类的单词来代替。
第二、翻译句子。将中文句子翻译成相对应的英文句子。这是用来锻炼学生的表达能力的。
第三、仿写课文。这里的课文包括简单的对话、段落和短文。这实际也是仿写句子的一种延伸。也是替换课文中的关键词，让它再另外自成一篇。我现在教的`一些中等水平的学生都基本能很好地仿写课文，有时还能有让人惊喜的创新。
最后，让能力较好的学生试着写命题作文。
在教英语作文时，切忌急于求成，要由简到难，循序渐进，一步一步地走。如果，一上手就让学生写命题作文，他们就会望而生畏，却步不前，不知道从哪里下手。

英语老师的到来，使我的心怦怦直跳起来，可是我想到了她对我的'安慰，我的心就放松了。在老师的上课过程中，我根本就听不懂老师在说些什么，如果不是她提醒我，我根本就不知道老师讲到了第几页。
中午，我的同桌提了一个问题她叫我可以向你姑姑每天帮你复习，我认为这个办法可以，我就去找我姑姑，我姑姑也答应了。
每天中午，我从最基本的大写字母学起，每天晚上，我都要默单词，就这样日子一天天过去，然而我的成绩也有所提高。
虽然那时候我在班里的成绩跟别人比起来微不足道，可是那也总比一个单词都记不住好多了，所我感激我的同桌，我的姑姑。
