Bus journey is a cheaper way but it is spent on narrow, bumpy roads which are crowded with traffic. Trips by ship may be the cheapest and most comfortable way but it takes too much time.

　　根据新闻上说“热潮由来已久，不仅普通公众多有怨言，一些专业人士也纷纷对此提出批评质疑。不久前，教育部前发言人王旭明通过微博呼吁取消小学英语课，令英语教育再次成为大众关注的话题。实际上，这样的质疑从未平息，20xx年全国两会期间，毕业于北京大学英语专业的全国政协委员俞敏洪接受记者采访时明确表示，“中国人从幼儿园就开始学英语，评职称还考英语，这是很荒谬的事”。中国教育学会会长顾明远则大声疾呼：“普通高考要减少考试门数，可以数学和语文为主”，对外语有要求的专业，“外语可参照全国等级考试成绩，不必纳入高考”。

　　如果江苏省此番高考改革方案得以顺利实施，毫无疑问将实现业内人士的构想，尽管只是一种可行性分析，“江苏高考改革英语成绩只计算等级不计分”的消息，仍然令无数网友为之欢欣鼓舞，有人调侃“英语变成副科啦”，更有早过了高考独木桥的网友感叹“恨不得晚生几年”。互联网上，超过90%的网友完全赞成取消高考英语考试，75%的网友选择如果英语不用考试，反而更有兴趣学英语。“语数外”曾经是雷打不动的三大主科，当英语即将告别高考舞台的消息传出，坊间一片欢呼，鲜见有人对此表示留恋，这种公众心态，无疑比取消英语考试本身更值得思考。

　　任何语言首先都是一种工具，通过学习语言来满足人们沟通交往的需要。然而，在传统的应试教育模式中，英语的沟通属性大打折扣，充其量不过是升学就业的“敲门砖”。应试化的英语教学背离了英语教育初衷，不少地区学校为使学生获取高分而推行“哑巴英语”和“聋子英语”，即使学生能考出卷面高分，但却没有实际交流能力。更为重要的是，虽然学生时代花费了大量时间精力在英语学习上，但多数人在实际工作中却很少用到英语，乃至于走出校门不久就将英语“全部还给了老师”。当英语教学彻底沦为应试教育敲门砖的时候，理应对此进行相应改革，从高考源头做起无疑是一种可行之策。

　　实际上，江苏高考新政并没有完全取消英语考试，而是将“一考定终身”调整为考生每年可参加两次英语高考，选取成绩最高的一次作为高考成绩，与此同时，英语考试只计算等级而不计分。显而易见，一年两考将大大缓解“一考定终身”的压力，而英语考级也更多展示出一种素质教育的思路——英语并非不再需要，只不过是换了种形式进行考核，如果考生有兴趣和需求，完全可以在高考前“过级”，而不必将压力带到高考。没有了考试和升学的'压力之后，“平易近人”的英语也许更容易引起学生沟通交流的兴趣，从而使英语教育回归本意。

　　与任何新生事物一样，江苏省此番高考新政仍有亟待补充完善之处，其中，最引人关注的莫过于，由谁来组织英语考试并计算等级，通过怎样的程序设计来保障这一新政的公平和公正。除此之外，令人仍心有疑虑的是，英语考试改革本身是为减轻学生的应试压力，但在应试教育大环境没有显着改善的背景下，英语教学所“节省”下的时间，是否会迅速被其他学科挤占呢？虽然这些问题已超出英语教学本身，但却是关系到新政能走多远的关键所在。江苏高考新政之所以引发普遍关注，不仅是因为应试英语饱受诟病，同时也是因为公众希望看到以此撼动应试教育机制的坚冰，希望这是高考改革的序曲，而不是“绝唱”。

There are many advantages for using Internet. First I can best use my time to find information online instead of going to different libraries. Also the information can be dated back in decades ago. Another advantage to use Internet is that I can stay home and have a lecture online. It is much more convenience to me because I can stay warm to have class in the winter time instead of spending two hours on the bus and physically attend class. In addition Internet provides me a better way to communicate with my friends and professors. I can get response from my professor in a few minutes instead of waiting outside of his door for hours. Some of my friends are living in a foreign countries I can simply just drop him an email whenever I can and get a message from him very quick. It is much better than waiting for letters. 　　一、追求优美要想让短文达到优美的境地，最重要的是语法正确，用词贴切。

　　但这远远不够，还要做到以下两点，才能使文章增色。

　　第一，使用较高级词汇，并且避免重复使用同一单词。20xx年高考题在表达"不应该收门票"时，不少考生写了"A park should not want/receive/accept entrance fee."三个谓语动词属于较低级的词汇，用在此意义尚可，但干涩无味，也不十分准确。换一种谓语"A public park should be free of charge."既能贴切地表达整体意义，又显得句子地道、优美。再如"公园是休闲的地方"，很多同学都写成"A park is a place in which people can rest and be free.""be free"固然不恰当，整句也很生硬，有逐字翻译的感觉。如变通一下，"People need a place where they can rest and enjoy themselves."信息量增多，词数减少，并且用了need a place，enjoy themselves，给人以妥贴、地道的美感，也给阅卷者留下交际水平高写作能力强的印象，得分档次随之升高。

　　二、注意联贯高考试题拟题时考虑到计分的统一尺度，内容上的得分点都做了科学的安排。

　　近几年的`内容得分点都有六、七个，写全一个即可得分。但得分多少还要看语言表达水平，按不同档次给分。由于考生比较注重对内容得分点的理解，所以这方面误差或遗漏不多。失分的原因往往是各个要点之间缺乏联贯，缺少内在的联系。有些考生仅限于将要点一一写出，就象翻译句子一样，没有成文。

　　要想写得联贯，要做到两点：第一，适当加上"粘合剂".20xx年高考书面表达中，不少考生一开始便写"60% of the students are against the idea of entrance fees."显得很唐突。如果加上"Opinions are divided on the question."或"Students are heatedly discussing the question."与上文就比较联贯，过渡自然。提到相反意见时，加上"On the other hand"就很恰当。常见的过渡词语还有：as a result，at last，at present，in a word，in the meantime，in general，I think，等等。

　　第二，句子紧凑，信息量要大。有的考生，用短小的单句较多，显得较松散。有的考生写的句子虽然长，但有效信息量不大，显得呆板、拖沓。要使短文联贯就必须学会紧缩句子，用排比、递进、平衡等等手法，或用并列句、复合句，在一句中表达较多的内容。例如，20xx年高考题表格右栏的三行文字，三个要点仅用一句话就能表达得淋漓尽致。

　　三、认真审题做题时切勿贸然动笔，应细读题目要求，认真审题，对文章框架做到心中有数。

　　审题要明确三项内容：首先认清体裁。作文题可分自由式、半控制式和全控制式。高考书面表达历来采用全控制式，亦称指导性写作（guided writing）。它的体裁、内容和篇幅都有明确的限定。体裁有叙述文、描写文、说明文和应用文。应用文包括书信、通知、日记等。无论提供材料的方式是通过文字、图画还是表格，要求写的文章体裁都是唯一的。体裁、格式、风格是紧密联系的，一定的体裁有特定的格式。但是，相同的体裁也可能表达的人称、风格和说话的口吻相异。这需要细心思考才能确定。

　　第二，要考虑文章的主要时态。动词时态的错误是阅卷时最容易发现的错误之一。时态错误多是考生语言运用能力较差的显著标志。因此在写作中要力求避免时态错误。

　　第三，要琢磨表达内容的次序和短文的基本框架。英语书面表达无须插叙、倒叙，基本次序与所给提示一致即可。20xx年高考由于考生审题不慎，将书面表达写得层次不清。有的把两个截然不同的，又没有可比性的观点放在一句中表达，给人一种模糊、零乱的感觉。其实英语作文审题与汉语作文是相通的，只要有足够的重视，遵循"慢审快写"的原则，正确审题是不难做到的。
