　　Dragon Boat Festival is a Chinese traditional festival. It falls on the fifth day of May in the lunar calendar. A day before this festival, my mother and grandmother began to make zongzi. Of course, I would act as assistant. But it turned out that I was more of a hindrance than a help.

　　When they finished, they started to cook them. This process needed a long time, because I could have them in the next day. Zongzi was very delicious. On the day of dragon boat festival, our family prepared for dinner after having breakfast. Everyone of my family will come back home for the solid diet. Chicken is indispensable on the dinner desk in Chinese traditional festival. There were many delicious foods, which made me watering. I ate lots of them.

　　It is a wonderful festival.

　　端午节是中国的传统节日。是农历五月初五。

　　我妈妈和奶奶在节日的前一天就开始包粽子了。当然，我会去打打下手。但事实证明，我是在帮倒忙。

　　她们包完粽子之后就开始煮了。这个过程需要很长的.时间，因为我要到第二天才可以吃到粽子。粽子非常好吃。在端午节这一天，我们家里吃过早饭就开始准备晚餐了。家里所有人都会回家吃这丰盛的食物。在中国传统节日的餐桌上鸡是必不可少的。还有很多好吃的、让我流口水的食物。我吃了很多。这是一个美好的节日。

　　The Mid-autumn Festival is a traditional festival with a long history in China. It is very popular and is also celebrated in many other Asian countries.

　　The festival falls on the 15th day of August of the lunar calendar. It is a time to get together with family and friends. People usually gather together enjoying a big meal. In the evening people talk and eat moon cakes under the bright and round moon. Children prefer to listen to fairy tales about Change or Wugang.

　　The moon is a symbol of reunion, luck and wealth. It is also a custom to express best wishes to people they love at this particular time.

　　China has many traditional festivals among the year. But I like Mid-Autumn Festival the most. It means harvest, because it is celebrated in the harvest season. And it is the time for famers to express their thanks for harvest. In addtion, it’s the day for reunion. Some people call it Tuanyuanjie. The people work or study far away from home will come back to get-together with their families. They will eat a big meal and mooncake at that time. I hate parting but love reunion. So Mid-Autumn Day is my favorite festival.

　　今天是三八妇女节，二毛和爸爸准备给妈妈一个大惊喜。

　　Today is March 8 women's day. Er Mao and his father are going to surprise his mother.

　　“爸爸，家里的.地太脏了，咱们打扫一下吧。”二毛说。

　　"Dad, the house is too dirty. Let's clean it up." 20 Fen said.

　　“好啊，爸爸去洗衣服，你去扫地，咱们得赶在妈妈下班之前把家打扫得干干净净。”

　　"Well, dad goes to wash clothes and you go to sweep the floor. We have to clean the house before mom gets off work."

　　“好，那我们赶紧打扫吧。”

　　"Well, let's clean up now."

　　二毛先扫地，从卧室到客厅，又从客厅到书房… …“呼，累死我了，一会儿还要拖地，不想拖了。”二毛躺在沙发上说。这时传来了爸爸的声音：“二毛，加油!为了妈妈!”“嗯，加油!”二毛费了九牛二虎之力，终于拖完了地，正好爸爸也把衣服洗完了。

　　The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is a significant (有意义的)holiday celebrated (庆祝)in China, and the one with the longest history (历史最悠久). The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated by b

　　oat races (龙舟赛) in the shape of dragons. Competing teams (竞争团队) row their boats forward to a drumbeat (击古)racing to reach the finish end first.

　　The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs (传统习俗)to attempts to (试图)rescue (搭救) the patriotic poet (爱国诗人)Chu Yuan. Chu Yuan drowned (溺死) on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese citizens now throw bamboo leaves (竹叶) filled with cooked rice into the water.

　　Therefore the fish could eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings(粽子).

　　The celebration's is a time for protection (防护) from evil (邪恶) and disease (疾病) for the rest of the year. It is done so by different practices such as hanging healthy herbs on the front door, drinking nutritious concoctions (营养品), and displaying (展示) portraits (画像) of evil's nemesis(邪恶报应), Chung Kuei. If one manages to (成功做...) stand (直立)an egg on it's end at exactly 12:00 noon, the following year will be a lucky one.

　　Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous(粘的) rice dumplings called zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fish) and race dragon boats in memory of Qu's dramatic death.
