　　为提高孩子们英语水平，检验近期英语学习情况，进一步培养学生的英语综合运用能力，营造英语文化氛围，7月28日，山东理工大学“红色之旅”实践团于菏泽市牡丹区赵楼社区支教基地举行英语作文比赛。

　　此次比赛本着“人人参与”的原则，在初中三个年级中进行。以《My holidy》（我的假期）为题，学生们现场发挥，在30分钟的时间内写出一篇100词作文。比赛过程中，参赛选手胸有成竹，屏气凝神，严格遵守比赛规则，表现出优秀的参赛风格。全部同学在规定时间内完成，甚至有几位同学提前做完，显示出同学们对英语的有效掌握。学生作文水平虽显稚嫩，但从单词、句子的运用，到语法篇章的安排，都显示出了英语教学有了明显的进步，这是同学们勤学英语的.结果，也是每位实践队员辛勤教学的结果。最终，赵芳同学脱颖而出荣获一等奖，刘涵、赵紫、赵伟等分获二、三等奖，队员们为其颁发奖状、奖品，以资鼓励。赛后，实践团将同学们的作品在橱窗中展示，以供大家交流学习。同学们表示今后一定再接再厉，学好英语。队员们鼓励大家在日常生活中也要勤学勤用，在实践中探索英语的奥秘。

　　It is impossible to recall all the past, but I can assure you that my childhood is a pleasant one to me.

　　When I was in kinder garden, I was very popular with my playmates because of my naughtiness. Once I made an arrow, with which I hurt one of my playmates and received scolding from my mother afterwards.

　　When I grew up, my father and mother dare not allow me to play outside. But sometimes when we had time they would bring me to the parks, movies and went swimming.

　　I like swimming very much. Thank them for teaching me swimming. I like to play with my friends because I was only a girl. My mother often scolded me when I didn't get home after school but never too severely.

　　On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

　　When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. 　　Some say growing up in rich family promotes children's personality and character. Some think otherwise. What's your opinion? Why?

　　Well, it's quite a question argued by people all the time. I think a person's personality has little relation to his family economic level. It's commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isn't aware of this, that is all in vain. It's not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. Then, how about the poor family's children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too. Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves.

　　However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus can't study well. Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think children's personality have little relation to their family situation.

　　转眼间到了英语书法比赛的日子，我快速向比赛地点跑去，到了地方，老师一发下试题，我就不由紧张起来，要书写的`内容很多，(有十个单词，和很长一段话）可又有什么办法呢？我只能耐下性子来好好写，刚刚写了一个开头，我就开始手心出汗，又往下写了还不到一半，我已经全身大汗淋漓，我急得像热锅上的蚂蚁团团转，心想：这样紧张下去，比赛肯定无法取得一个好成绩，不行，我得调整情绪，不能太紧张了。于是我连着深呼吸了几下，尽量把字写得不那么歪歪扭扭，眼看快收卷了，我硬着头皮把考题写完交了上去。交上去后，我想：这次可算是写砸锅了，想拿一等奖是不可能了！不一会儿老师们便改完了试卷，评出了一、二等奖，开始发奖状了，老师先念了二等奖的人，但没有我的名字，一种恐惧迅速蔓延了我的全身，我是不是因为写得太烂而没有获奖？我总不能得一等奖吧？我越想越害怕，这时老师念到了获一等奖的同学，竟然念到了我！我万万没想到我竟然是一等奖！我太开心了。

　　我知道我的书写还有很大的进步空间，借着这次机会，我还会更努力地把字写好！
