　　Some say growing up in rich family promotes children's personality and character. Some think otherwise. What's your opinion? Why?

　　Well, it's quite a question argued by people all the time. I think a person's personality has little relation to his family economic level. It's commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isn't aware of this, that is all in vain. It's not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. Then, how about the poor family's children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too. Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves.

　　However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus can't study well. Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think children's personality have little relation to their family situation.

　　当我还是高一年级时，我看到台上哥哥姐姐舌灿莲花，充满自信的表现，让我崇拜不已，我期待有一天我也能像他们一样，能站在学校的舞台，尽情的表现自己。没想到当我升上四年级时，竟然意外获得校长的推荐，给了我一个梦寐以求的英语演讲机会。当老师告诉我这个从天上掉下来的消息时，剎那间，我吓得目瞪口呆。

　　我怀着既期待又紧张的心情准备，在练习的过程中，英语老师为了要我适应计时铃声，控制好说完故事的时间，模拟了比赛铃声响起的各种突发状况。当我第一次练习听到催促的铃声，我心想：“天啊！超过时间会被评审扣分！”顿时，我难过得流下伤心的眼泪。老师频频安慰我，要我心平气和熟悉比赛的气氛。

　　经过反覆的.练习，我渐渐的适应铃声所带给我的影响，并且能驾轻就熟的把握时间，最后，我终于能在规定时间内说完故事，也得到更多的自信。

　　到了正式比赛的当天，我自信满满带着精心设计的各种道具来到比赛现场。每个参赛对手实力坚强，看到每个人将辛苦练习的成果，淋漓尽致的展现在舞台上，激起了我强大的斗志。轮到我上台时，我从容自若气定神闲的态度，以及灿烂可爱的笑容，博得评审和观众如雷的掌声，英语老师和亲自前来为我鼓励打气的爸妈都极力称赞我，我对自己的表现给予最高的评价，大家都斩钉截铁的认为冠军非我莫属。

　　当成绩公布时，出乎意料的，我居然名落孙山，当场嚎啕大哭，爸妈只能在一旁安慰鼓励我。

　　虽然这样的结果，让我难过不已，但“要怎么收获先那么栽”，我坚信只要我持续不懈，总有一天能为学校争取荣誉，我的努力将为自己种出一片幸福的花田。

　　今年暑假，我报名参加了全省少儿英语朗诵电视表演大赛。有三千多人参赛。比赛分为四个组别，分别是：幼儿组、小学A组（我参加的组别）、小学B组、中学组。分初赛、复赛、半决赛、决赛四个赛程。竞争很激烈，从三千人中最后决出四十名选手进入决赛。

　　我抱着试试看的心情参加了比赛，想练练胆子，希望能提高自己的英语水平。初赛的时候，我有些紧张，自我介绍的时候都卡壳了，不过幸好我的英语歌曲唱得不错，顺利过关，进入复赛。

　　复赛的时候，我的心情不那么紧张了，并且增加了一个Story time的'才艺展示。几天后，接到了参加半决赛的通知。

　　半决赛在杭州滨江区的浙江艺术职业学院的演播厅举行。按规定，每个组别是20人参加，但是由于竞争很激烈，我们组有25人参赛，要选出10人参加决赛，比别的组更艰难。结果我发挥较为出色，杀入了决赛。哇，好高兴！

　　一周后，决赛开始。评委也增加到了9个。比赛分为4个环节：自我介绍、才艺展示、即兴演讲和评委提问，要求也更加严格，超过时间就会被卡断。我抽到最后一个出场，由于还是有些紧张，居然漏了一项才艺表演。不过其他都发挥正常。

　　经过2个多小时的比赛和评委的认真评选，奖项正式开出，我获得了这次全省第二届少儿英语朗诵电视大赛小学A组的铜奖。哈哈，真没想到！通过这次比赛，我得到了锻炼，开阔了眼界，也提高了学好英语的兴趣。正像老师说的那样，重要的不是结果，是参与比赛的过程！

　　Since I was small, I like to play basketball, because I was effected by my father, he likes to watch basketball game so much, I will watch the basketball game with him. So when I went to school, I joined the basketball team in my class, we made up of a basketball team. Last week, we had our first match.

　　I was asked to play in the first time, I felt so nervous, I am so afraid that I could not cooperate with my team well. When the match started, I watched the basketball and moved as the ball flied, I forgot my job, I was asked to cover the team leader. I recognized my mistake, I changed my move, at last, I covered our captain successfully, our team won the game.

　　I learned so much from this match, team work comes first.
