　　the game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on friday night. long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.

　　by seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. the school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. they started to play at about a quarter to eight. everybody stood up, and the people sang. the game was about to start. two teams ran out to the floor. the referee blew his whistle, and the game started. a basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. there is a rest period between the halves. during the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. from then on, the game was very exciting. first one team made a basket, then the other. the people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

　　the ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. the whistle blew and the game was over. home team won, 70 to 68.

　　近些日子，我报名参加了大同市英语翻译比赛。由于复习时间较短，而题的数量多、难度大，所以，要想获得优秀的成绩，只得“勤学苦练”了。这不，今天就要考试了，经过前几天“不分昼夜”的“埋头苦学”，我已准备充分了。俗话说：“临阵磨枪，不快也光。”有了这句话，也让我信心百倍。

　　今天早晨，我和妈妈早早地赶到现场，坐在考场外等候比赛的开始。翻译共分两个环节：口译40分，笔译60分。我们又复习了一会儿，比赛就开始了。首先进行的是笔译，我领到了答题卡和卷子之后，先粗略地浏览了一下卷子，“哇”这么简单的题?不会吧!这种题对我来说简直是张飞吃豆芽——小菜一碟!我有些沾沾自喜，可警觉心却告诫我，千万不可粗心大意呀。我立马醒悟了过来，可万万不可轻敌呀!于是，我开始小心翼翼地跨越这片充满陷阱和“拦路虎”的森林。不一会儿，“堡垒”都被我攻克了，我又一丝不苟地检查了两遍“死亡沼泽”，终于坚定地把卷子交给了老师。我抹了一把汗，就出去等待下一环节了。

　　口译很快就开始了，可是等了一个多小时才终于轮到了我们这一组，我们五人进场后，便都纷纷对序入座，当前两位选手考完后，便轮我上场了。我感到非常紧张，仿佛心脏经过了胃、肠、肝和肺，转了整整一圈又回到了原来的位置上。我让自己努力保持镇定，但腿还在抖个不停，回答得有些结结巴巴，甚至把七点钟说成八点钟，把那个说成了这个。我心想：这下可糟了，一定取不了好成绩了。那样的.话我付出的辛苦不就付之东流了吗?想到这儿，我的手心不禁泌出了汗。“现在开始评分!”，我被一个声音从思绪中拉了出来，这时我的心差点儿从嘴里掉出来。可仔细一看，结果令我大吃一惊。两个40分剩下的是39.5、39、38.5，去掉一个最高分和一个最低分，最后得分39.5分。那时我简直惊呆了，直到老师和同学们向我道贺时，我才回过神，爆发出兴奋的欢呼。

　　虽然我这次取得了小小的成绩，但我一定要在今后学习英语的过程中再接再厉，一定要多听、多看、多说、多写，让英语成为我不可缺少的伙伴，争取更好的成绩。

　　今天，我们学校举行了一次英语合唱比赛，结果只得了第三名，想要知道是怎么回事吗？这还要从进场说起。

　　“同学们，我们要进场了，脱掉外套。”听到口令，早就跃跃欲试的我们马上站了起来，排好队伍，向后台走去，到了后台，只见其他班的同学都在听班主任的最后几句叮咛，王老师随即也说了几句，之后就要等我们上场了。

　　我们怀着紧张的心情，上了台，面对着人山人海，心跳得更快了，原本生疏的歌，唱到后来就流畅了，这时，我突然发现周围的人都没在做动作，我看见人家没做，我也就没做“怎么办，这样唱会得倒数第一的”

　　突然，发生了一个意外，唱到第二首开头竟然出了差错，我们声音慢了下来，似乎每个人都在搜索开头的词语，我眉头紧锁，那首歌好像在我脑海里像放电影一样放着，不一会儿，便极力搜到了那句话，渐渐恢复了状态。唱着唱着，时间一分一秒过去了，随着音乐的.结束，我们也下了台。

　　走下台时，我心里一直希望，希望拿个第三名，因为第一名是不可能了，第二名也算了，一定要第三名，其他人似乎也和我一样，一下台就抱怨，怎么动作没做的一类话，如果时间能逆转，我肯定会边唱边做动作，真不甘心。如果第四名可就惨了，一格黑格啊！

　　成绩终于下来了，果然，如我们所愿第三名，每个人都在心里默默的叫了一声“耶”

　　这周，学校举行英语周活动。在老师的推荐下，让我去参加英语歌曲比赛。终于，比赛的日子到了，我走进大礼堂，看见大礼堂里坐着好多人，我的心开始忐忑不安起来，总是想：万一我唱错了怎么办？万一忘记歌词怎么办？万一……比赛开始了，我们班的俞力铭第一个上场，只见他胸有成竹地唱起来，还加了许多活泼的动作，台下的观众都被深深地吸引了。唱完以后，俞力铭看到我害怕的样子，说：“别怕，只要你把下面的'观众当成萝卜白菜就可以了。”

　　该轮到我上台了，我暗暗地为自己“鼓劲”：别慌，我能行，一定能行的。我挺直了腰杆，大胆地走上台去，为大家唱起了一首《彩虹歌》，随着优美的歌声，我慢慢地忘记了紧张，越来越放松，越唱越好。演唱结束了，台下响起了一阵雷鸣般的掌声，我的心里甜滋滋的。
