　　Thank you for your kind letter. You told me that you and most of you classmates went out for a three-day trip. I really think it fun. Now let me tell you something about a speech contest, which I have taken part in.

　　The contest was held at the playground last Saturday morning, 7:00a.m. The panel is made up of 5 English teachers from our school, all of whom were experienced. Moreover, a total number of 20 competitors came from we Grade 2. It was made a rule that the top 3 competitors would be awarded. It is a great competition and all the participants perform well. I was so lucky that I won the first place.

　　2月2日下午，我要参加阿斯顿英语学校举行的口语演讲比赛的总决赛。虽然我并没有任何压力，可妈妈却认为，进入决赛的同学们都是水平很高的，他们的英语口语非常好，你学英语起步晚，平时在家又没怎么练，对名次、奖励什么的别抱太大期望，重在参与就好。

　　听了妈妈的这番话，我并没有往心里去，而是继续认真的背诵演讲稿，心想，我一定要得奖。

　　时间不知不觉的来到了这一天，我心里多少也没底，因为并不知道其他参赛选手的实力如何。不过，我对自己还是有信心的，希望自己能取得一个不错的成绩。

　　那天下午，我早早的来到了比赛场地。发现来了的同学们都在认真的看自己的演讲稿，我找到一个比较靠前的座位，边看演讲稿，边等待比赛的开始。

　　两点整，比赛正式开始。主持人Vivian宣读了比赛规则以及评分标准。然后让我们到评委席去抽签决定比赛顺序。我本以为自己能抽到中间的位置，没想到竟然抽了个第二。看来得好好发挥了。

　　很快就轮到我了，我从老师的`手中接过话筒，走上舞台，先鞠了一躬。之后稍作停顿，开始了演讲。我演讲的内容是介绍我的学校生活，就像在家里无数次练习的那样，内容早已背诵的滚瓜烂熟，我并不感到紧张。只是，中途不知为什么，话筒好像出了问题，时好时坏，使大家听到的声音是断断续续的。我没有被这个小问题干扰到，努力大声地演讲，等话筒一好就稍稍减弱声音。这样，大家并没有听出声音有什么变化。不知不觉中，我的演讲内容结束了。这时候，轮到外教提问了。我走下舞台，从一堆纸条里面任意抽了两张，分别是banana和boy，我仔细看了一眼便作了回答。OK,我顺利过关了，心情顿时轻松了不少。

　　接下来，开始听其他选手演讲。

　　我本以为这次参加演讲的选手实力都很强，没想到几乎个个都紧张的不得了，影响了各自的实力发挥。这让我悬着的心稍稍放了下来。

　　到了宣布结果的时候了，我紧张又认真的听着。哦！我的总分是94分，竟然顺利的进入了前三名，获得三等奖！不光有奖学金，还有证书以及一套迪士尼学习用品。看来，我的努力没有白费，如愿以偿的实现了我得奖的愿望。

　　但是，我不能骄傲，不能满足这小小的成绩。今后我要再接再厉，多听多练，争取在英语口语方面更上一层楼，在以后的比赛中得到更好的成绩。

Runners please get everything ready!”On hearing this, the four girl runners of our class, Helen, Jane, Nora and Dinah, gathered quickly by the track and did some warming-up exercises①. With strong determination, Dinah said to her teammates, “We should win honour for our class and put up a good show.” After some time, teams from six other classes were entered. “On your marks,”the starter ② ordered. Then came the pistol shot③. At the sound of it, the first runners shot from their starting points. Many eyes turned to a thin sixteen-year-old girl named Helen who started very fast and became the first one. Soon the second runners already moving, grabbed ④ the sticks and raced on. Nora, the third runner had the stick and took the lead. Already running, Dinah reached for the stick. She was flying three or four steps ahead of the others. Dinah urged herself, “Faster! 　　今天是英语比赛的复赛，我和爸爸早上早早的起床，然后出去吃早餐，我们到车站坐上车以后，我惊奇的发现我和聂泽坤做的.竟然是同一班车！我们因为离得很远，所以路上没有说话。到了以后爸爸给我买了一瓶水就打出租车来到了我们比赛地点广电大厦，我们向保安人员问清了演播厅在哪儿，就去了，正好又碰上了聂泽坤，他正好也要进去，我觉得我们像有缘分一样。然后老师要开始点名了，因为姓名在电脑上，所以我就和聂泽坤一起看了看名单，发现乔尚卿（2班的一位同学）第一，聂泽坤第二我第三，我们还发现，指导教师应该都是于海洋（Ms yu）,乔尚卿的却被打成了丁海洋！我和聂泽坤都笑了起来。

　　开始点名了，我们在点名的桌子前面站成两排，乔尚卿抽了34号，聂泽坤抽了33号，而我却抽了14号！我们离得太远了，就连不会的单词都不能互相问一下。比赛开始了我们来到一个大厅里，在里面按顺序坐好，开始抽纸条，上面写着单词，后面写着几个人表演，我抽了一个纸条上面写着：Look snake help a boy （4人）。一个工作人员就又找了3个人和我合作。我们编排的故事情节大体是这样的：一个男孩在森林里散步，忽然看见了一条蛇，有两个小女孩路过，救起了小男孩，杀死了那条蛇。我上台比赛的时候非常紧张，但是虽然心里紧张，表面上却看不出来，我相信在选手里面我是最放松的一个。最后经过好久的比赛，评出了成绩，我的成绩不太理想，不过还是得了一等奖，我惊喜的跳了起来，心里准备参加下一次比赛，但是后来工作人员的一句话泼了我一身冷水：特等奖的才有机会参加山东省的决赛！

　　唉~~我已经努力了，不过我相信我会在双语比赛中获得冠军，加油！

　　The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.

　　By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start. Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters.

　　There is a rest period between the halves. During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other. The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

　　在一个不宁静的夜里，鸡飞狗跳，当时我在抬鱼缸，突然，一阵刺耳的电话声响起，一个不留神，我踩到断了脚的芭比娃娃，金鱼躺了一地。生死一瞬间，我立刻捡起地上那奄奄一息的金鱼，才发现有通电话忘了接。过了五分钟，那通宛如烦人的大苍蝇般的铃声又来了。“喂？”我不耐烦的说着，“这里是英文补习班，我们想派你参加英文朗读比赛。”就这样我莫名奇妙的要去参加比赛了。

　　拿到文章后，密密麻麻的英文让我眼花撩乱，查完所有的英语单词后，已经过了一个礼拜，时间像飞箭般，瞬间闪过。比赛迫在眉睫，我才念熟第一篇文章，却不知死活，每天依旧快乐似神仙。

　　当要抽顺序及篇目时，我才开始有点良心不安，但天助我也！抽到我最有把握的第一篇，代价是要第一个上场…….在念的时候，几十双眼睛瞪着我，我要控制好情绪，才不会伸手去挖那些鹰眼般的.眼珠。那种致命的窒息感心脏有点应付不来，只能扑通！扑通！的愈跳愈快。刚开始念得还满通顺的，可是到最后一段时，整颗心脏好像已经塞满我的喉咙，快念不下去了，好不容易比赛终于结束，我已吓到站不起来，留了十五分钟的冷汗终于停止。

　　成绩发下来了，我竟然第二名，评语写：“台风好、音量大，如果再努力，会有更不错的演出。”我乐歪了，虽然表面上装得很平常，心里却想着：“哈！唐哥是佳作，终于有一个项目比他强了！哈！”那时，我咬住舌头才能避免自己大叫。

　　其实，演说和朗读都是训练胆量的，名次只是其次，但经过这次比赛的恐怖经历，若想要多活几年，任何比赛可千万不要再临时报佛脚啰！
