　　During the holiday I took part in a special summer camp with my classmates. There we made some new friends. They were senior students from Canvey, a town on the Themes, which is to the east of London. As hosts, we showed them round many places of interest in Beijing, such as the Palace Museum, the Great Wall and the Summer Palace and told them about the changes that have taken place in Beijing. And they said Beijing was quite different from what they had heard of and it was very beautiful. Meanwhile, we improved our spoken English with their help. I think the summer camp is very valuable.

　　My summer vacation

　　My summer vacation of this year was very enjoyable. I went to the countryside to spend my summer holidays. It is very beautiful there. There are green plants, clear rivers, lovely animals and kind people. I spent two weeks helping my grandfather do some farm work there. I wrote down what happened in my diary every day.

　　Besides that, I helped the children in the neighbourhood with their lessons. I helped them read English and improve their spoken English. Their parents thanked me for this.

　　说起我最不喜欢的科目，那就是英语课了，而且是从小就不喜欢。对于我来说每一节英语课都是煎熬，我感觉英语课和其它的科不一样，十分的无趣和枯燥，不知道这是什么原因。因为不喜欢，所以每一节英语课我都感觉十分地长，坐在位子上，就如在对我体罚一样，感觉这凳子也在和我作对，十分地不舒服，一节英语四十分钟，但对于我来说一节英语课有两个小时，我真希望这个世界上没有英语这门科目。

　　为了让英语课的时间过得快一点，我设想了一个自己认为很好的安排，就是分配好时间段，我是这样子安排的：20分钟坚持认真听英语老师讲课，还有二十分钟，用十分钟来拔手指甲，再用十分钟来发呆和想事情。不过这些只是我的`设想，还没有付诸于行动，我感到这样做多了英语成绩就一定会下降，所以我不会这样做。

　　有时我经常地感叹：哎，不知道要什么时候，英语课会变成一门让我感兴趣的科目。渐渐地，我有些想明白了：要想让英语课变成我喜欢的课，光感叹感叹是不行的，我的作自身的努力，如果我自己不去努力改变自己的话，上帝也帮不了我。

　　我决定：从今天起，挑战英语。
