“五一”放假的时候老师给我们布置了一项作业：每人准备一份英语演讲稿，可以是自己的父母、老师、学校，也可以是小动物，或者英语小故事，我准备的是《My family》。“五一”开学以后，老师在班里进行选拔，最后我们班被选中的同学有魏奕博、刘向还有我，老师又对我们进行了多次辅导。老师要求我们首先要把自己的稿子读熟练并读出感情，不能像背书那样速度那么快，在熟练的同时再背诵。我回家后每天都抽时间练习，一段一段地背熟练，让妈妈帮我听，还自己用手机录音听效果。
参加英语演讲比赛的共有来自三至六年级的17名同学，他们看起来都信心十足，那些哥哥姐姐们在台上都表现得非常出色。连主持人也是一名英语和一名汉语主持人。我是三年级的一号，快轮到我时我有点小紧张了，害怕自己说不好，我深伸吸了一口气就上台了，结果我说得还比较流利，没有忘词 还 发挥出了自己最好的`水平。最后有4名同学获得了一等奖，5名同学获得了二等奖，8名同学获得了三等奖。我获得了二等奖。
演讲比赛结束了，虽然我这次没有获得一等奖，但我从别人的身上看到了别人的优点和缺点，也看到了自己的优点和缺点，我现在还是一名三年级的学生，还是第一次参加这样的比赛，以后还会有很多机会，这次活动对我来说也锻炼了我的胆量和能力。以后我要好好学习，多多地参加各种活动来锻炼自己。

为提高孩子们英语水平，检验近期英语学习情况，进一步培养学生的英语综合运用能力，营造英语文化氛围，7月28日，山东理工大学“红色之旅”实践团于菏泽市牡丹区赵楼社区支教基地举行英语作文比赛。
此次比赛本着“人人参与”的原则，在初中三个年级中进行。以《My holidy》（我的假期）为题，学生们现场发挥，在30分钟的时间内写出一篇100词作文。比赛过程中，参赛选手胸有成竹，屏气凝神，严格遵守比赛规则，表现出优秀的参赛风格。全部同学在规定时间内完成，甚至有几位同学提前做完，显示出同学们对英语的有效掌握。学生作文水平虽显稚嫩，但从单词、句子的.运用，到语法篇章的安排，都显示出了英语教学有了明显的进步，这是同学们勤学英语的结果，也是每位实践队员辛勤教学的结果。最终，赵芳同学脱颖而出荣获一等奖，刘涵、赵紫、赵伟等分获二、三等奖，队员们为其颁发奖状、奖品，以资鼓励。赛后，实践团将同学们的作品在橱窗中展示，以供大家交流学习。同学们表示今后一定再接再厉，学好英语。队员们鼓励大家在日常生活中也要勤学勤用，在实践中探索英语的奥秘。
此次比赛有力调动起同学们学习英语的积极性，提高了对英语的实用能力，提高了学生英语读写能力。据悉，此类活动还将继续开展，为学生创设运用英语写作展示的平台。

在比赛的路途中，我们出了一点小插曲：当上了城西干道高架桥时，城西干道上竟然堵车了，车子一动不动，就像一件摆设。我看了一下表，猛地一惊，已经3:45分了，在这样堵下去，我就要迟到了。这可怎么办？我焦急万分。我想到了爱情公寓这部电视剧里的场景，主人公曾小贤被堵在中环路上进退两难，我现在也是这样，最后，我们终于慢慢的移动到了堵车的源头，终于又走上了好走的路。
·到了考试地点致远外国语小学了，此时，我的心非常的紧张。虽然我已经会背了我的演讲稿，也会唱那一首歌，可是我还是觉得很紧张。这时，老师喊到了我，我平复自己的心情，和妈妈一起走进了考场。在考试中，我虽然有些紧张，但努力的`大声演讲，我认为讲的非常的不错。可是在最后的时候出了点意外，在老师说："thank you."的时候，我给老师鞠了一躬，就慌慌忙忙的走出了考场，老妈对我说，你也应该讲一下thank you，我觉得这是我的一个失误。

The contest,whose aim was to let more people know the bad environmental conditions we are facing and the urgency of protecting it,was hosted by the Environmental Protection Burua.Fifty top contestants from twenty schools throughout the city took part.All of them were required to answer the questions in English in ten minutes.In order to prepare for it,I went through a very hard time.
When I was chosen to attend the competition,I felt nervous first,for my English was not good.But after a deep thinking,I made a decision that I should go for it.That's a very good opportunity for me to improve my English,as well as know more about the environmental protection which is of great importance to us human beings.I began to learn English very hard,paying much attention to the knowledge of environmental protection,such as using environmentally friendly bags instead of plastic ones,saving water and electricity and taking a bus and underground when going out.That's hard work,but I enjoyed it.
The exciting time came at last.On the morning of July 27th,20xx,thousands of people crowded at the Youth Culture Palace,watching the contest.Now it was my turn to perform.I was a little nervous at first.I tried to calm down.Soon I was OK.I answered the questions one after another,no mistakes occurring.Ten minutes passed by,I went back to my seat,smiles on my face.I did a good job.
