　　The 21st CENTURY speech contest was held on Friday afternoon in the lecture hall, Gaoxin

　　Campus. It was great. Each grade in our school had a speech contest. Eighteen candidates from Grade Six took part in it. The first three winners would go to the next grade.

　　All of the speakers prepared well for the speech. When the contest began, some of the speakers were very nervous as they were giving speech to the audience.

　　The thing that made me shocked was, when the speakers were giving a speech and the fellow students were so quiet that you could hear the speakers clearly. When our class speakers went up, our whole class was cheering, it was crazy. The speakers delivered their speeches very fluently that I couldn’t even do it so good.

　　I remember all of the speakers talked about their parents. They said all of the good things about their parents, but no one said their flaws. But I think everyone has already done a great job. They all did their best.

　　Congratulations to all the candidates on their excellent jobs. I hope all of them will do better and better in the future.

　　今天，我们学校举行了一次英语合唱比赛，结果只得了第三名，想要知道是怎么回事吗？这还要从进场说起。

　　“同学们，我们要进场了，脱掉外套。”听到口令，早就跃跃欲试的我们马上站了起来，排好队伍，向后台走去，到了后台，只见其他班的同学都在听班主任的.最后几句叮咛，王老师随即也说了几句，之后就要等我们上场了。

　　我们怀着紧张的心情，上了台，面对着人山人海，心跳得更快了，原本生疏的歌，唱到后来就流畅了，这时，我突然发现周围的人都没在做动作，我看见人家没做，我也就没做“怎么办，这样唱会得倒数第一的”

　　突然，发生了一个意外，唱到第二首开头竟然出了差错，我们声音慢了下来，似乎每个人都在搜索开头的词语，我眉头紧锁，那首歌好像在我脑海里像放电影一样放着，不一会儿，便极力搜到了那句话，渐渐恢复了状态。唱着唱着，时间一分一秒过去了，随着音乐的结束，我们也下了台。

　　走下台时，我心里一直希望，希望拿个第三名，因为第一名是不可能了，第二名也算了，一定要第三名，其他人似乎也和我一样，一下台就抱怨，怎么动作没做的一类话，如果时间能逆转，我肯定会边唱边做动作，真不甘心。如果第四名可就惨了，一格黑格啊！

　　成绩终于下来了，果然，如我们所愿第三名，每个人都在心里默默的叫了一声“耶”

　　我得了二等奖，我很失落，因为我想我的表演没有得一等奖，这下我得要好好复习英语，要像这次英语歌谣大赛得一等奖的同学学习，如果下次再有机会的话，我一定会积极参加，争取得上一等奖。

　　Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them.

　　Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

　　Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

　　每天放学后，我都要去多媒体教室排练。也许是我的英语没有汪天昊好，也许是我不了解该怎样说好旁白，我常常被miss腾和miss姚纠正单词的读音和音调；而且因为紧张，我几乎只是机械地背诵而不是富含感情地朗诵。

　　我很害怕，这样下去会有什么不好的结果。

　　终于，危机真的降临。老师发出了最后通牒：如果再不能让所有的老师满意，我就要被换掉！听到这个消息，我的“金豆子”吧嗒吧嗒地滴落下来，伤心、难受还有对自己的失望，充满我的.心中。可是哭，又有什么用？我擦掉眼泪，望着随风舞动的小草，笑着对自己说：加油，相信自己！

　　回家后，我拼命地练习，练发音，练语调，对着镜子看自己的表情，一遍一遍，直到我的脸颊麻木。

　　今天，传来了喜讯：我们的节目获得了下关区第一名！我高兴极了，我的努力终于有了结果！

　　我们还将参加南京市的比赛，是否能赢，我不能肯定，但是，只要努力，一定会有好的成绩，这一点，我深信不疑！

　　我一生中经历了许多事情，有些事情已在脑海里记忆不清了，但是有一件事在我的记忆中永远难忘。

　　记得那是三年级的一天，我们正在上课，程老师面带笑容地走进教师，把我叫到办公室，并高兴地对我说：“你已被定为参加英语歌比赛的一名选手。”我听后，心里就像十五个吊桶打水——七上八下，一时不知所措，不由地皱起了眉头。

　　老师见我一副为难的样子，知道了我的心思。笑着对我说：“是不是有点紧张？”我点点头。老师又说：“其实呀，我第一次当老师也是像你这样，但是我对自己充满信心，再加上努力学习，充分备课，这样一天天下来也就不紧张了，懂吗？”我似懂非懂地点点头。

　　以后，我早早起来就背英语单词，晚上吃好晚饭做完作业又背英语单词，经过我的.不懈努力，终于把英语单词背熟了。可是我的感情还不够到位，所以又在课余时间请老师指导。

　　比赛那天不知不觉就到了，我和爸爸、程老师到了歙县教育局的多媒体教室，这里可真是人山人海啊！......终于轮到我唱了。我拿着话筒，既高兴又紧张，高兴的是有机会站在台前唱英语歌，为校争光；紧张的是：毕竟是第一次唱英语歌，怕唱不好，闹笑话。但在台下，有爸爸给我加油，老师给我鼓励。于是，我鼓足勇气，唱了起来......唱完后，我用目光搜寻着爸爸和老师，他们正满意地对我笑呢！

　　我想：只有自信，才能成功。
