　　Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them. Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty. Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. 　　这次比赛无论是主持还是演讲，都是全英文的。东看看，西看看，竟来了不少我认识的人。学校的几位老师来做评委，还有一位外教呢！

　　比赛开始。首先，是两位主持人一番简短的介绍，然后选手开始挨个儿上台。每个人都有一份课件，上面是演讲内容，选手要流畅地背出稿子，才能得高分。他们一口流利的英语，听得我云里雾里。我不由得感叹道，这就是差距啊！不过根据课件上的英文，我还是认出了一些单词。

　　选手的情况也不同：有的`一口英语说得头头是道，听得人一愣一愣的；有的上了台过于紧张，忘了词，又下来整理整理思绪再上台；也有的背得不错，却出了一点小插曲的……可谓是千姿百态。

　　选手们讲的内容各不相同：有的流畅地讲了那些经典的故事；有的介绍了自己喜欢的动物或东西；还有的讲了自己从一句话或者一件事中感悟的道理……内容各不相同。

　　十二月二十二号，我和五个同学一起来到四眼碶中学参加英语比赛。

　　我们是第三个表演，原本非常自信，可看了前两个表演后，顿时，成了一个个泄了气的气球。就说第二个表演吧，他们演的是英文的“三打白骨精”。内容很多，也非常幽默，原本书中写的是悟空外出时，唐僧等人在原地休息，而表演的的同学们却改编成了在原地打扑克。这让全场的评委老师和同学都笑了起来。我们也哈哈大笑。不一会儿就到我们了。

　　我们径直走上舞台，快速布置起来。布置完背景后，我按照自己的稿子认真地念了起来。在警察出场时，闹了一个小笑话。我的旁白还没有念完时，警察就出来了。这也注定了我们的`分数会下降。表演完了后，我们下场欣赏别的同学的表演了。

　　我看了接下来的表演，有的表演《狐狸偷肉》，有人表演《小红帽》，还有人表演《狐假虎威》等经典的故事，我觉得我们最多只能拿最后一名，所以在心里下定了决心要好好学习英语，成为英语小能手。

　　比赛虽然结束了，但我一定要好好学英语。

　　前一段时间，我参加了“希望之星”英语比赛，没想到进入了复赛。复赛比初赛难多了，初赛只需要用英语进行自我介绍，再加上才艺表演就行了，而复赛呢，除了这两项之外，还要看图用英语说句子。比赛的图片有20多张，比赛前两分钟进行抽签、准备，然后就要上场了。

　　这一个礼拜，我一直在为比赛做准备，可是因为图片太多了，时间又紧张，所以我只准备了其中的10多幅图片。

　　星期六下午，妈妈陪我去参加英语比赛。抽签的时候，我看见我准备的图片都被别的小朋友一张张抽走了，心里有点儿紧张。轮到我了，果然，我抽到了一幅没有准备过图片，我想：“这下可完了，真倒霉！可是，都已经到了，也没办法了，只能再努力准备一下了。”上场的时候，我不再紧张，我大方地做了自我介绍，并唱了一首英语歌，看图说话开始了，大屏幕上出示了图片，老师把话筒递给我。我先介绍了图片上的.人物，在介绍他们在干什么，30秒中里面，我大概说了八、九个句子。

　　比赛结束了，妈妈表扬我发挥的很好。不知道会不会进绍兴市的比赛，但是不管结果如何，这都是一次很好的经历。

　　以后，我早早起来就背英语单词，晚上吃好晚饭做完作业又背英语单词，经过我的不懈努力，终于把英语单词背熟了。可是我的感情还不够到位，所以又在课余时间请老师指导。

　　比赛那天不知不觉就到了，我和爸爸、程老师到了歙县教育局的`多媒体教室，这里可真是人山人海啊！......终于轮到我唱了。我拿着话筒，既高兴又紧张，高兴的是有机会站在台前唱英语歌，为校争光；紧张的是：毕竟是第一次唱英语歌，怕唱不好，闹笑话。但在台下，有爸爸给我加油，老师给我鼓励。于是，我鼓足勇气，唱了起来......唱完后，我用目光搜寻着爸爸和老师，他们正满意地对我笑呢！

　　今天是英语比赛的复赛，我和爸爸早上早早的起床，然后出去吃早餐，我们到车站坐上车以后，我惊奇的发现我和聂泽坤做的竟然是同一班车！我们因为离得很远，所以路上没有说话。到了以后爸爸给我买了一瓶水就打出租车来到了我们比赛地点广电大厦，我们向保安人员问清了演播厅在哪儿，就去了，正好又碰上了聂泽坤，他正好也要进去，我觉得我们像有缘分一样。然后老师要开始点名了，因为姓名在电脑上，所以我就和聂泽坤一起看了看名单，发现乔尚卿（2班的.一位同学）第一，聂泽坤第二我第三，我们还发现，指导教师应该都是于海洋（Ms yu）,乔尚卿的却被打成了丁海洋！我和聂泽坤都笑了起来。

　　开始点名了，我们在点名的桌子前面站成两排，乔尚卿抽了34号，聂泽坤抽了33号，而我却抽了14号！我们离得太远了，就连不会的单词都不能互相问一下。比赛开始了我们来到一个大厅里，在里面按顺序坐好，开始抽纸条，上面写着单词，后面写着几个人表演，我抽了一个纸条上面写着：Look snake help a boy （4人）。一个工作人员就又找了3个人和我合作。我们编排的故事情节大体是这样的：一个男孩在森林里散步，忽然看见了一条蛇，有两个小女孩路过，救起了小男孩，杀死了那条蛇。我上台比赛的时候非常紧张，但是虽然心里紧张，表面上却看不出来，我相信在选手里面我是最放松的一个。最后经过好久的比赛，评出了成绩，我的成绩不太理想，不过还是得了一等奖，我惊喜的跳了起来，心里准备参加下一次比赛，但是后来工作人员的一句话泼了我一身冷水：特等奖的才有机会参加山东省的决赛！

　　唉~~我已经努力了，不过我相信我会在双语比赛中获得冠军，加油！

　　今年的英语歌谣比赛，从各班的保密程度及互相打探军情的状况，可以得知大家无不摩拳擦掌，希望夺下冠军宝座。我们班也不例外，老师利用了音乐、体育课程，不断紧锣密鼓地练习，希望再度拿到好成绩。

　　时间不断地逼进，再过三天就要英语歌谣比赛了，同学们卖力地练习着跳舞、唱歌，一遍又一遍，此起彼落的歌声回荡在教室中，彷彿在诉说着我们有多么努力、认真。

　　回想起这几个星期来，从选歌曲到编舞，每一个人绞尽脑汁地设计动作，努力练习歌曲的练唱着。一开始练舞蹈动作时状况百出，有人像是木头人般毫无韵律感；有人则是节拍总跟不上；有些人懒散甚至浑水摸鱼，急得老师跳脚。大家总是等老师气到脸红脖子粗，如同火山爆发地破口大骂时，才一改懒散的态度严阵以待。

　　而妈妈在比赛这段时间，常常四处奔波只为了帮我们找寻适合歌曲的造型。有时我会陪妈妈一起去买材料，没想到常常在车上一等就是好几个小时。因妈妈对任何事都要求完美。他一直很在意每一个小细节，在家中总拿我当人形模特儿，让我试穿各类型的衣服，只为了表现歌曲本身的精随。有一次，下着滂沱大雨，妈妈一样坚持要到后火车站找寻配件，她说她希望每个同学都有最独一无二的造型，并为我们留下美好的回忆。当时，我知道自己不能再懒散了，看着妈妈辛苦的'付出，也让我学会了“欢喜做，甘愿受”的道理。

　　这几天我也不断地苦练吉他，希望把每一个音节修正到位。妈妈更是千万叮嘱地请吉他老师帮我试音、调音。希望在我们比赛时，我精湛的电吉它飙音技巧能为我们班的歌曲做一完美开场，在评审心中留下深刻的印象。

　　看着同学们卖力地扭动身躯，扯开喉咙地大声欢唱，汗水淋漓的脸庞为我们的努力见证着，虽无法预知三天后的比赛成绩，但是我知道我们团结努力地朝着目标前进的心，绝对无人能及！同学们，加油吧！

　　On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

　　When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasn't looking at me- it was if she didn't respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.

　　After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good mark.Then came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……
