　　当我还是高一年级时，我看到台上哥哥姐姐舌灿莲花，充满自信的表现，让我崇拜不已，我期待有一天我也能像他们一样，能站在学校的舞台，尽情的表现自己。没想到当我升上四年级时，竟然意外获得校长的推荐，给了我一个梦寐以求的英语演讲机会。当老师告诉我这个从天上掉下来的消息时，剎那间，我吓得目瞪口呆。

　　我怀着既期待又紧张的心情准备，在练习的过程中，英语老师为了要我适应计时铃声，控制好说完故事的时间，模拟了比赛铃声响起的各种突发状况。当我第一次练习听到催促的铃声，我心想：“天啊！超过时间会被评审扣分！”顿时，我难过得流下伤心的眼泪。老师频频安慰我，要我心平气和熟悉比赛的气氛。

　　经过反覆的练习，我渐渐的适应铃声所带给我的影响，并且能驾轻就熟的把握时间，最后，我终于能在规定时间内说完故事，也得到更多的自信。

　　到了正式比赛的当天，我自信满满带着精心设计的各种道具来到比赛现场。每个参赛对手实力坚强，看到每个人将辛苦练习的`成果，淋漓尽致的展现在舞台上，激起了我强大的斗志。轮到我上台时，我从容自若气定神闲的态度，以及灿烂可爱的笑容，博得评审和观众如雷的掌声，英语老师和亲自前来为我鼓励打气的爸妈都极力称赞我，我对自己的表现给予最高的评价，大家都斩钉截铁的认为冠军非我莫属。

　　当成绩公布时，出乎意料的，我居然名落孙山，当场嚎啕大哭，爸妈只能在一旁安慰鼓励我。

　　虽然这样的结果，让我难过不已，但“要怎么收获先那么栽”，我坚信只要我持续不懈，总有一天能为学校争取荣誉，我的努力将为自己种出一片幸福的花田。

　　今天早晨七点钟，我就起床了。上午，我要去参加“苏报杯”。

　　八点一刻，我来到了考试地点——胥江实验中学。我很快就找到了我的考场。我到考场的时候，很多人都来了。我先签到，然后就去找座位了。我发现我们的座位竟然是可以随便坐的。我找了一个靠边的位子，坐下等待考试的开始。

　　铃声响了，监考的志愿者把试卷和草稿纸发给了我们。我拿到试卷后，先审题。这次考试一共要写两篇文章，第一篇是看图写对话，要求不少于八句话。我很快就写完了。

　　第二篇文章是让我们谈谈我们理想中的.周末，120个词左右。正好类似的文章我前几天就写过，我的印象还很深刻。我写完后，时间还很多，我就数了数我的词数，一共167个。接着，我检查了一下我的单词有没有拼错，有没有语法错误。

　　On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

　　When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasn't looking at me- it was if she didn't respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.

　　After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good mark.Then came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……

　　好兴奋啊！老师抽了几个牌子，我是50号所以我比较慢才轮到，前面几个同学回来告诉我：“哇，那个加拿大的'外教真好，对着我们一直微微地笑。”终于轮到我了，我用眼瞥了一眼外教，发现他总是笑咪咪的看着我。我想起来之前老师给我打气的话，瞬间就觉得不再紧张了，我的演讲顺顺利利就结束了。回来后，我很兴奋，一直在说外教和评委，我好开心地和同学玩起了游戏，等所有的同学比赛完了，大家才恋恋不舍的离开了比赛场地。后来，老师还带我们去三棵树公园，那里的风景美极了，绿树成荫，许多市民在那里游玩，散步、下棋。
