　　Firstly, perseverance let people step closely towards success. Most people want to make a big difference to prove their value. People who set their goal and keep moving would make their dream come true. However, there are some people who set their goal but they stop at the difficulty would fail in the end. I think the difference between success and failure is perseverance. If we have perseverance, even if we are not clever, we will make a great difference, but if we not, we are doomed to lose. As we all know, Edison is a great inventor in the world. However, before he invented the bulb, he kept trying for tens of thousands of times to find a suitable wire. 　　近些日子，我报名参加了大同市英语翻译比赛。由于复习时间较短，而题的数量多、难度大，所以，要想获得优秀的成绩，只得“勤学苦练”了。这不，今天就要考试了，经过前几天“不分昼夜”的“埋头苦学”，我已准备充分了。俗话说：“临阵磨枪，不快也光。”有了这句话，也让我信心百倍。

　　今天早晨，我和妈妈早早地赶到现场，坐在考场外等候比赛的开始。翻译共分两个环节：口译40分，笔译60分。我们又复习了一会儿，比赛就开始了。首先进行的是笔译，我领到了答题卡和卷子之后，先粗略地浏览了一下卷子，“哇”这么简单的题?不会吧!这种题对我来说简直是张飞吃豆芽——小菜一碟!我有些沾沾自喜，可警觉心却告诫我，千万不可粗心大意呀。我立马醒悟了过来，可万万不可轻敌呀!于是，我开始小心翼翼地跨越这片充满陷阱和“拦路虎”的森林。不一会儿，“堡垒”都被我攻克了，我又一丝不苟地检查了两遍“死亡沼泽”，终于坚定地把卷子交给了老师。我抹了一把汗，就出去等待下一环节了。

　　口译很快就开始了，可是等了一个多小时才终于轮到了我们这一组，我们五人进场后，便都纷纷对序入座，当前两位选手考完后，便轮我上场了。我感到非常紧张，仿佛心脏经过了胃、肠、肝和肺，转了整整一圈又回到了原来的位置上。我让自己努力保持镇定，但腿还在抖个不停，回答得有些结结巴巴，甚至把七点钟说成八点钟，把那个说成了这个。我心想：这下可糟了，一定取不了好成绩了。那样的话我付出的辛苦不就付之东流了吗?想到这儿，我的手心不禁泌出了汗。“现在开始评分!”，我被一个声音从思绪中拉了出来，这时我的心差点儿从嘴里掉出来。可仔细一看，结果令我大吃一惊。两个40分剩下的是39.5、39、38.5，去掉一个最高分和一个最低分，最后得分39.5分。那时我简直惊呆了，直到老师和同学们向我道贺时，我才回过神，爆发出兴奋的欢呼。
