　　Basketball---My Favorite I’m a tall and lively boy. I like playing basketball very much because it’s interesting. I like NBA, too. There are many famous stars in it. Such as Alan, Iveson, Tim, Donken, Jordan, Kobe, O’Neal and so on. Yao Ming is in the NBA, too. He’s Chinese. He plays basketball well. He’s a center forward. He’s our pride. All the ball stars can jump, shoot and pour in the basket. So each game of the NBA is wonderful. Sometimes the players can perform miracles, I think. This year’s champion is Spur Team. It’s one of the strongest contenders. I like NBA. I love basketball.

　　记得那是三年级的`一天，我们正在上课，程老师面带笑容地走进教师，把我叫到办公室，并高兴地对我说：“你已被定为参加英语歌比赛的一名选手。”我听后，心里就像十五个吊桶打水——七上八下，一时不知所措，不由地皱起了眉头。

　　老师见我一副为难的样子，知道了我的心思。笑着对我说：“是不是有点紧张？”我点点头。老师又说：“其实呀，我第一次当老师也是像你这样，但是我对自己充满信心，再加上努力学习，充分备课，这样一天天下来也就不紧张了，懂吗？”我似懂非懂地点点头。

　　以后，我早早起来就背英语单词，晚上吃好晚饭做完作业又背英语单词，经过我的不懈努力，终于把英语单词背熟了。可是我的感情还不够到位，所以又在课余时间请老师指导。

　　比赛那天不知不觉就到了，我和爸爸、程老师到了歙县教育局的多媒体教室，这里可真是人山人海啊！......终于轮到我唱了。我拿着话筒，既高兴又紧张，高兴的是有机会站在台前唱英语歌，为校争光；紧张的是：毕竟是第一次唱英语歌，怕唱不好，闹笑话。但在台下，有爸爸给我加油，老师给我鼓励。于是，我鼓足勇气，唱了起来......唱完后，我用目光搜寻着爸爸和老师，他们正满意地对我笑呢！

　　我想：只有自信，才能成功。

　　前一段时间，我参加了“希望之星”英语比赛，没想到进入了复赛。复赛比初赛难多了，初赛只需要用英语进行自我介绍，再加上才艺表演就行了，而复赛呢，除了这两项之外，还要看图用英语说句子。比赛的图片有20多张，比赛前两分钟进行抽签、准备，然后就要上场了。

　　这一个礼拜，我一直在为比赛做准备，可是因为图片太多了，时间又紧张，所以我只准备了其中的10多幅图片。

　　星期六下午，妈妈陪我去参加英语比赛。抽签的时候，我看见我准备的图片都被别的小朋友一张张抽走了，心里有点儿紧张。轮到我了，果然，我抽到了一幅没有准备过图片，我想：“这下可完了，真倒霉！可是，都已经到了，也没办法了，只能再努力准备一下了。”上场的时候，我不再紧张，我大方地做了自我介绍，并唱了一首英语歌，看图说话开始了，大屏幕上出示了图片，老师把话筒递给我。我先介绍了图片上的'人物，在介绍他们在干什么，30秒中里面，我大概说了八、九个句子。

　　比赛结束了，妈妈表扬我发挥的很好。不知道会不会进绍兴市的比赛，但是不管结果如何，这都是一次很好的经历。

　　The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium. By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled.

　　The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start.

　　Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. There is a rest period between the halves.

　　During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other.

　　The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win. The ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. The whistle blew and the game was over. Home team won, 70 to 68.

　　学校为此也举行了不少活动：有同学们声情并茂的英语演讲，有惊心动魄的足球比赛，还有团结一致的30人×30米接力赛，把大运的精神体现得淋漓尽致。

　　为了响应“百万市民学英语”号召，打造良好的英语氛围，学校又准备举行“迎大运、促和谐”校园英语情景剧比赛了。老师说：“大运会上，有来自五湖四海的外国来宾，作为东道主的我们，如果语言不通，怎么能和他们交流呢？所以，我们要带动市民学会英语，为大运做贡献。”

　　我一听，觉得很新鲜，想去参加比赛。可老师说，表演必须全部使用英语，还要加上动作，这我可犯了愁，想退出比赛。老师说：“如果你认为自己能力太小，那就错了！我们每个人都有义务发挥自己的作用啊。”我不再犹豫，立刻投入到写剧本的忙碌中。虽然写得不算好，可也是我智慧的结晶啊。接下来就是加紧背诵，并配上动作，花了不少功夫。我的搭档姜欣怡也是这样。课余时间、早读、自习课，总有我们忙碌的身影。背是背熟了，可老师说动作还不够熟练，我们又加紧练习，动作渐渐自然了很多。就要在全班面前表演了。说实话，的确是马马虎虎，但就和刚开始想的那样，最终被老师选中了，决赛的时间就在4月8日下午。

　　4月8日到了，参赛的同学都在一楼电教室集合，参赛的顺序是由抽签来决定的`，我们抽到了第3位。当老师叫我们到后台做准备时，我的心怦怦直跳，头也在开始出冷汗。同学递给我两张雪白的纸巾，我感觉到自己有点哆嗦。心里后悔莫及：等会如果忘词了，我该怎么办？下面的同学会不会哈哈大笑？早知道我就不该参加这次比赛了。”但世上没有后悔药吃，我决定：放手一搏，豁出去了！

　　“现在请3号选手上场！”紧接着，就是排山倒海的掌声，那掌声一浪高过一浪。灯光打向了我和我最默契的搭档，她小声地说：“不要怕，像平时那样说，像平时那样做。”我风度翩翩地走上演讲台。“Hello,everyone……”我用英语侃侃而谈，讲述着与大运有关的知识。我讲得十分激情，语感也不错。可就在这时，意想不到的事情还是发生了——我忘词了！之前老师教我的对策，此时也是梁山伯的军师——无{吴}用！这时我十分窘迫。没办法，即使这样，稿也要讲完啊！我硬着头皮把稿子讲下去。“That is all.Thank you!”就急匆匆地下台去。

　　下台后，我坐在自己的位置上，旁边的潘锦宾笑得前仰后合。这使我想起演讲的时候，我紧握麦克风，脚都发抖了，活像一只畏畏缩缩的老鼠！但当我看到后面的同学讲得那么流利时，我只好甘拜下风。

　　英语比赛结束了，我的表演以失败告终，我的心像打翻了五味瓶一样难受。但重在参与，毕竟，我也为迎大运出了一份力。同时，激起了我学英语的兴趣。我祝愿，大运会圆满成功！
