　　Football is connected with the people throughout the world.

　　It has become a part of people's life..Every day, football matches are going on here and there around the world.

　　Pick up a newspaper and you can learn the the results of the football matches. We enjoy playing football, watching football games after work. During the football matches of the World Cup,millions of people watch the matches on TV.

　　When their favorite teams win, they will give them three cheers. When they fail,they feel sad. We all hope our national team will be the strongest one in the world.

　　The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.

　　By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start. Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters.

　　There is a rest period between the halves. During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other. The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

　　我开始观察这次比赛的评委。坐在评委席左侧的是一位漂亮的中年阿姨，是五中的优秀英语老师，听说她以严厉治学出名。中间那重量级的.评委看起来大腹便便，看起来还真是“重”呢！

　　右边是位外国阿姨，金发白皮肤，很和善爱笑的样子，她是三峡大学外语系的教授。我一边注意观察着评委，一边和身旁的同学交头接耳，声音可能是有一点大，刚好被那位外国评委听见了，很不好意思，本以为她会责备我们，没想到她竟然笑眯眯地给我们打了个招呼，我们简直有点“受宠若惊”。

　　好激动啊！明天就是英语比赛了！晚上我一直睡不着，一直在想那里漂不漂亮，评委好不好，我在那里一直在想。三个字：睡不着！

　　终于到了这一天英语口语大赛，我急忙起床，洗好脸，吃完饭，准备好东西出发，我在车上看了一路的风景，老师说：“一个小时就到了，请大家耐心坐车。”终于到达汽车站，我们排好队伍向比赛场地走去。一到比赛场地，我发现我们竟然是第一个到比赛地的学校！

　　好兴奋啊！老师抽了几个牌子，我是50号所以我比较慢才轮到，前面几个同学回来告诉我：“哇，那个加拿大的外教真好，对着我们一直微微地笑。”终于轮到我了，我用眼瞥了一眼外教，发现他总是笑咪咪的看着我。我想起来之前老师给我打气的话，瞬间就觉得不再紧张了，我的`演讲顺顺利利就结束了。回来后，我很兴奋，一直在说外教和评委，我好开心地和同学玩起了游戏，等所有的同学比赛完了，大家才恋恋不舍的离开了比赛场地。后来，老师还带我们去三棵树公园，那里的风景美极了，绿树成荫，许多市民在那里游玩，散步、下棋。

　　回校的路上，我一直在想：这次比赛虽然结束了，但是今后更多的比赛正等待着我，我要时刻准备着，努力学习，锻炼好自己的本领，更重要的是我不会忘记常常开口说英语！
