　　A Football Match

　　Last Friday afternoon, there was a football match between Class One and Class Two. It was a close match. Almost all the students went to the playground to cheer for them. Suddenly it began to rain, but no one left. At last Class One did better and won the game. The score was 2 to 1. The students of Class One were so excited that they sang songs happily for their team.

　　Thank you for your kind letter. You told me that you and most of you classmates went out for a three-day trip. I really think it fun. Now let me tell you something about a speech contest, which I have taken part in.

　　The contest was held at the playground last Saturday morning, 7:00a.m. The panel is made up of 5 English teachers from our school, all of whom were experienced. Moreover, a total number of 20 competitors came from we Grade 2. It was made a rule that the top 3 competitors would be awarded. It is a great competition and all the participants perform well. I was so lucky that I won the first place.

　　今年暑假，我报名参加了全省少儿英语朗诵电视表演大赛。有三千多人参赛。比赛分为四个组别，分别是：幼儿组、小学A组（我参加的组别）、小学B组、中学组。分初赛、复赛、半决赛、决赛四个赛程。竞争很激烈，从三千人中最后决出四十名选手进入决赛。

　　我抱着试试看的心情参加了比赛，想练练胆子，希望能提高自己的英语水平。初赛的时候，我有些紧张，自我介绍的时候都卡壳了，不过幸好我的英语歌曲唱得不错，顺利过关，进入复赛。

　　复赛的时候，我的心情不那么紧张了，并且增加了一个Story time的才艺展示。几天后，接到了参加半决赛的通知。

　　半决赛在杭州滨江区的浙江艺术职业学院的演播厅举行。按规定，每个组别是20人参加，但是由于竞争很激烈，我们组有25人参赛，要选出10人参加决赛，比别的组更艰难。结果我发挥较为出色，杀入了决赛。哇，好高兴！

　　一周后，决赛开始。评委也增加到了9个。比赛分为4个环节：自我介绍、才艺展示 、即兴演讲和评委提问，要求也更加严格，超过时间就会被卡断。我抽到最后一个出场，由于还是有些紧张，居然漏了一项才艺表演。不过其他都发挥正常。

　　经过2个多小时的比赛和评委的`认真评选，奖项正式开出，我获得了这次全省第二届少儿英语朗诵电视大赛小学A组的铜奖。哈哈，真没想到！通过这次比赛，我得到了锻炼，开阔了眼界，也提高了学好英语的兴趣。正像老师说的那样，重要的不是结果，是参与比赛的过程！
