　　The 21st CENTURY speech contest was held on Friday afternoon in the lecture hall, Gaoxin

　　Campus. It was great. Each grade in our school had a speech contest. Eighteen candidates from Grade Six took part in it. The first three winners would go to the next grade.

　　All of the speakers prepared well for the speech. When the contest began, some of the speakers were very nervous as they were giving speech to the audience.

　　The thing that made me shocked was, when the speakers were giving a speech and the fellow students were so quiet that you could hear the speakers clearly. When our class speakers went up, our whole class was cheering, it was crazy. The speakers delivered their speeches very fluently that I couldn’t even do it so good.

　　I remember all of the speakers talked about their parents. They said all of the good things about their parents, but no one said their flaws. But I think everyone has already done a great job. They all did their best.

　　Congratulations to all the candidates on their excellent jobs. I hope all of them will do better and better in the future.

　　Modern clothes are definitely more practical as against traditional clothes.Almost all people now wear modern clothes.Nowadays even more and more people wear casual clothes.Jeans are everywhere except at formal parties.T-shirts are common,too.They look comfortable and fashionable.However,there are also a lot of people who take the trouble to dress well in formal clothes like shirts,trousers and suits.I find them smart,too.

　　But then,it is important to hold on to our topic.In my opinion,each type of dress has its place.Modern clothes are ideal for most situations,while casual clothes are worn more freely.As to traditional clothes,they must be worn for special occasions

　　上个月，希望之星昂立英语大赛报名了！我兴奋不已，立刻报上名，拿到了一个名额。

　　报上名后我才知道，全市有二千多人参加这次比赛，选拔赛后只有500个晋级名额，一听到这个消息，我马上像泄了气的皮球，没有信心了。那天晚上，轮到我上场了，我从容地走上台，勉强把稿子背了一遍，下台后才发现嘴里竟还含着口香糖呢！没想到公布成绩时我竟然也晋级了！真让我又惊讶又高兴！

　　复赛时，我的分数不是很高，但还是顺利晋级。这下我忽然担心起来，生怕决赛时被刷下来了。回家后，我又把稿子重新修改了一遍，把每个单词、每个句子都反复朗读，做到精确无误，还用心设计了每一个动作。我信心满满地走上台，一开口，评委的`脸上就露出了笑容，我流畅地做着自我介绍、演讲、才艺展示。我们五个人都讲完了，评委进行了认真的点评，最后公布成绩——— 我取得了我们组的最高分！这一次又顺利晋级了！我高兴得心花怒放，合不拢嘴。妈妈也高兴地抱着我亲了又亲。

　　这次比赛意义非凡，我一生也忘不了，因为我从这次比赛中懂得了成功只留给那些准备充分的人！

　　今天下午，我们悠闲自得地听广播，播音结束时说了一句话：“预祝大家在英语书写比赛中取得好成绩。”我心里一惊：啊?英语书写比赛，不是说晚上吗?

　　比赛开始了，我接过试卷，就像接过石头一样重，心里为自己加油了好几次，才握紧了笔，脚微微发抖，心跳快了许多。写了一面的四分之一，只听见金婷婷说一声：“Miss Hu，我把O写成Q了!”我抬头望着金婷婷，情不自禁的捂着嘴巴偷偷笑。Miss Hu对我们大家说：“谁笑了，谁肯定就写不好。”我低头一看，傻了眼，原来在笑的时候，笔没有离开纸，结果呢?被划出了一道横线，嗨!这还能怨谁呢?我头上已沁出了细细的汗珠，心跳快的`如过年时敲的锣鼓一样快。怎么改合适呢?过了好一会儿，我都快以汉洗面了，可还是没想到合理的办法，我眼珠骨碌一转，急中生智，把写错的地方划成一个圆圈，哈哈，这样不就成了吗?

　　写到最后，我的关节已经非常酸痛，心里默默为自己加油：坚持下去呀!坚持下去呀!快!快!只有三行了，只剩两行了，最后一行了!啊!终于完成了!

　　当我把笔松开时，我的手湿淋淋的，仿佛刚洗过，悬在空中的心放了下来，一切紧张都没有了……

　　准备了好久，终于到了英语比赛的日子了。妈妈带我去化妆店把我打扮得像个小公主。我约了万诗琪去给我打气，我们还接了夏老师一起去看我的表演。

　　到了杭州，我们在赛场内看了许多小朋友的表演，他们都很棒，我相信我一定能像他们那样棒的。在那里等了好长的时间，终于轮到我了。当主持人叫到我的'名字时，我的心情一下子紧张起来了。走到台上我想到了妈妈的话：“把下面的评委当成是班里的同学，他们在听我领读英语呢！”想到这儿，我的心情一下子就平静了下来，顺利的表演完了准备好的节目。听到观众的掌声，别提我心里有多高兴了。夏老师还夸我的表演很不错，妈妈也说我的表演非常棒。我克服了我胆小的毛病，以后我会对自己更加有信心。

　　比赛在大家的掌声结束了，我带这喜悦的心情回家了。
