①丝绸的故事很逗人。大约在4000年前中国人发现了蚕茧（cocoon）的秘密，但是没有人确切知道这一重大发现的时间和由来。
②有一种说法是，一位年轻的公主在花园一边喝茶一边看着蚕（silkworm） 作茧。意外地有一个茧子掉进她的茶水里，热水把茧子给软化了。
③公主要将茧子从茶水中取出来时，茧子散开了，她抽出来一根长长的丝线。
④中国人学会了把丝线织成丝绸的技术。之后的两千年当中，中国人是惟一知道如何制作丝绸的`民族。中国商人把丝绸销往整个亚洲和欧洲。丝绸曾经很昂贵，人们把它称为“国王的布”。
⑤人们都想学习做丝绸，但中国人一直在保守秘密。最终秘密还是被人偷去了。
⑥六世纪时，有两个修道士得知蚕茧的情况后在中国住了数年，最后找到一种把蚕卵带出中国的办法。
⑦这两个修道士手里总拿着竹杖。有一天他们把一些蚕卵藏在竹杖的空心里带出了中国。

The Story of Silk
The story of silk is a funny one.
About 4,000 years ago the Chinese discovered the secret of the cocoon. No one knows exactly how or when this important discovery was made. One story says that a young princess was drinking tea in her garden and watching silkworms spin cocoons. By chance one dropped into her tea and the hot tea made it soft. When the girl tried to take the cocoon out of her tea, it became separated and she pulled out a long silk thread.
The Chinese learned to weave the silk thread into cloth. For 2,000 years they were the only people who knew how to make silk. The Chinese merchants sold silk cloth throughout Asia and Europe and became rich.Silk was so expensive that it was called “the cloth of kings” .
Everyone wanted to learn how to make silk, but the Chinese kept the secret carefully guarded①.
Finally the secret was stolen. In the sixth century, two monks learned about the silkworms and their cocoons. They spent several years in China and finaly found a way to take some silkworm eggs out of the country. The monks always carried bamboo canes②. One day they hid some eggs in the hollow canes, and walked out of China with them. It is said that the development of the silk industry in other countries came from those few eggs which the monks had carried out of China.

American and Chinese education idea is very different. which style of parenting is best for children, permissive western parenting or demanding eastern parenting? I think we cannot broadly speaking identity agree with “tiger mother” type education or not.In the young,that is to say children are less than 1 years old. He really has nothing.
So all the little babies’ requirements are reasonable.But to meet these reasonable requests there are various options.I think it is this choice that laid in a lot of his "sensible" behavior in the future. 英语作为国际通用语，其重要地位越来越得到大家的共识。因为，“我们不能忽视一个巨人的存在”（英国某语言专家语）。所以，我们要下定决心，排除万难，掌握英语。而构建你英语大厦的基础，就是词汇。
1． 词汇学习的重要性。英语能力培养程序：词汇-语法-听-说-读-写。英语高分训练程序：词汇-读-写。这两套程序是语言学和认知学研究的成果，次序千万不能颠倒。词汇是基础，是素材，是细胞，不要指望词汇基本功不扎实的人能够考出高分；阅读是中国人学习外语的最佳途径，也是目前各类外语考试的最主要题型；写作是掌握外语，检验自己水平的最主要方式。有兴趣的人可以参考这方面的专著。
2。 词汇的学习最困难。如果有人说不，他保证是“唯心主义”。那既然如此，有无捷径？这儿就有一条捷径，穿越时空隧道，到达梦幻之境。词汇的学习要以变应变，在不同的阶段，要有不同的方法。想一想你是如何记住f ace 和pencil的？死记硬背，“无他法，唯手熟尔”（卖油翁）。所以，从原理上来说，词汇的学习离开死记硬背是不行的，因为，外语的学习要点在于记忆，死记硬背好比打基础，离开了他，毫无大厦可言。如果你的词汇量在5 000以下，买一本词汇书，词汇量在3000（背功不行）5000（背功还行）7500（背功很好）。选择标准有三：1。有音标；2 有词性；3 内容简单，没有例句。 你是如何记住facial, surface, deface; acclaim, declaim, proclaim 的？因为你知道-face- ,-claim-的意义。所以，词根词缀法是你学习词汇第二阶段的方法。词根词缀法的意义我就不多说了，你是如何记住flagrant 和fragrant的？因为你知道-l-(一根大棒),-r-(一朵鲜花)，所以他们的意义就井然分明了。联想记忆法是你学习词汇第三阶段的方法。唯有联想，才能强力扩大词汇范围。联想记忆法有时也叫做邪门记忆法，这方面的书很多。
3 . 如何运用词典扩大词汇量。关于辞典。词汇的学习离不开词典，如何选用她至关重要。我做一个Prediction ，70%的人用的是牛津和朗文。但是你如果看一下英语专业的考试大纲的话，你会发现，COLLINS COBUILD 和 WEBSTER’S COLLEGE DICTIONARY 才是最好的工具书。我用的就是后者。为什么要推荐这俩本呢？1、释义详细，简练；2、提高词汇在上下文的理解能力；3、后者还提供词源，方便理解与记忆。
4. 词汇量大对阅读的帮助。阅读有三个层次：字面意义，行间意义，言外之意。试题考察的比例一般为2：2：1。字面意义不必多说，对于行间意义和言外之意的理解，需要高超的技巧，一般的阅读书上都有，在此我提一下篇章结构的作用。篇章结构对于解答行间意义和言外之意的提问特别有效。
