My friend Mike has changed a lot in the last few years.In the past,he was thin and short.He was very quiet and did not like to talk with others.He always read books in his bedroom.And he was late for class from time to time.It made his teacher very mad.At home,he spent time watching TV or playingcomputer games but seldom spent time doing his homework.
Luckily,he has changed a lot with rhe help of his parents. He is tall and strong now and wears glasses .Hebecomes outgoing and gets on well with others.He goes to school on time and is always praised.When He is free,He likes to play basketball and read books.He listens to the teacher carefully in class and does well in homework.He is a Good boy now.I am really happy because of his changes and take pride in him.

i have known him since senior one. we are both interested in english. once both of us entered for an english contest. how eagerly i epected to get a prize! on hearing that i had failed in the contest, i could hardly hold back my tears. "what a pity!" i murmured to myself over and over again. i felt that the world had become cold and everyone seemed to be laughing at me.i love english and have gone all out to study it since my first day in the junior middle school. i have even dreamed of entering a foreign language institute. so i felt very sad.
just at this time, i received a short letter in english, saying, "failure is the mother of success. cheer up! dont lose confidence. keep on your study and you will succeed!" i knew it was from the good friend of mine.these words encouraged me greatly. i forgot all my sadness. from then on, i studied english even harder. in the net english contest, i got the first prize. of course, he was delighted with my success.
i am very lucky to have such a good friend. im thankful to him for his help.

As is often read in the newspaper reports, wild life especially the rare species is threatened with extinction. Human beings are making attempts to hunt wild animals for a big profit., which, of course, results in a sharp decrease in the number of animals. So it is high time for us to take quick action to protect them. First of all, it’s quite necessary for every citizen to realize the importance of animal protection. Only by knowing its importance can people develop a sense of responsibility. People will surely take it for granted to have the duty to prevent any killing of wild animals. So a national publicity campaign should be launched, thus giving animals a good living environment. In addition, the government should pass some laws to forbid any hunting of rare animals. We don’t expect anything harmful to wild life to happen again.
If everyone is involved in the protection of wild life, we’re sure man will be a good friend of animals rather than their enemy.
