　　Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them. Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty. Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

　　说起比赛,从小到大我参加过许多项目，其中让我印象最深刻的一次是四年级代表班参加英语说故事比赛,当时被老师选上的心情真是雀跃不已。

　　比赛的日子一天天的来临，每当妈妈要我多练习时,我总是漫不经心,认为短短三分钟的故事对我来说非常容易，根本不用花太多时间练习。直到预演时，站在讲台上结结巴巴、脑中一片空白时才知大事不妙。回家后，开始进行魔鬼般的训练，不论是洗澡、吃饭甚至走在路上，我的`口中总是念念有词。直到比赛前一晚，我还希望明天发生超级强烈台风，这样就有多一天台风假的时间可以准备。但是,天不从人愿，比赛当天是个大晴天和我忐忑不安的心情正好相反。

　　比赛时,我抽到一号，连害怕的时间都没有就要准备上场了，说也奇怪，不知哪来的神秘力量?我竟能朗朗上口，顺利的把故事说完。原以为两脚发抖、忘词的情节，竟然幸运的都没有发生在我身上。下台后,回到自己的座位上，专心聆听其他选手的表演，有的人紧张得四肢僵硬、脸色发白，有的人表演得生动活泼、令人不禁赞赏!公布名次的时刻终于来了，很侥倖的我得到第三名，真是兴奋极了!

　　有了这次的经验，不但让可以学习到其选手的优点，也深深体会到“胜利是留给有充分准备的人”。如果当时我没有下定决心急起直追、努力准备，也无法享受得到好成绩的喜悦!下次的比赛，得要及早准备,才不会临时抱佛脚，错失成功的机会!

　　是这样的，一个月前高老师让我和几个小伙伴一起去参加星光英语举办的.一次比赛。

　　签到后，我一直非常紧张，因为我怕我会背错，或把歌唱走调。是妈妈一直陪着我，并对我说：“你是最棒的，不需要紧张，你一定会成功的。”我还看见了我的好朋友和周老师，她们都对着我微笑。这是对我多大的鼓励和支持啊!表演结束后评委老师对我说：“你的表现还不错。”这让我兴奋不已。

The communication between students develops so fast must be owed to the basketball match. I joined the team and fought for my class. I practised with my partners and during the progress, we got to know each other well and soon we became the real team. The other classmates cheered for us when we in the match. It was such a good atmosphere. The whole class became so closed at this moment. The group activity can unite people together.

　　T:Welcome to the final of the 5th English speaking contest of Jianghan University. L : 本次大赛由江汉大学读者协会举办，从三月初到现在，经过层层筛选，八位选手从数百名选手中脱颖而出，来到我们决赛现场。

　　T : This contest is organized by the Readers Association of Jianghan University. 8 prominent contestants have distinguished themselves in the preliminary and intermediate contests.

　　G : 在此，我想说的是，你们每一位参赛选手都是优秀的，一路走来，还能够留在今天的舞台上更是了不起的.，希望你们八位再接再厉，再创佳绩，同时给在场的各位带来一场更为精采感官性的饕餮大餐。

　　四、宣布比赛环节和评分细则

　　Now I would like to introduce the rules for the contest

　　Today's competition has two phases: The first phase is a 5 minutes’ speech show, which composes 60% of the score. In this part, the contestants are supposed to make a 3 minutes’ impromptu speech according to the topics , and then they will answer the questions raised by our judges, and the time limit is 2 minutes.

　　And the second phase is the role play of each contestant, which takes 40% of the final score. Every one of them will be given 5 minutes to display their role they selected beforehand.

　　After the performance by the contestants, our judges will give fair judgment according to the comprehensive performance of each contestant. We will have one champion, two second prizes winners, three third prize and the rest contestants will get the Excellence Award. I wish all of them achieve a lot, and have good luck.
