　　Thanks for your last letter. I'm so glad that you have been able (at last! ) to arrange a holiday in Australia. As I fear I won't be able to meet you at the airport when you arrive, nor will I be able to be home until later in the afternoon, so here are some instructions and suggestions.

　　There is a bus from the airport to the city. It is much cheaper than a cab. Take the bus to the city and ask to get off at Town Hall railway station.

　　To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes) or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage.

　　When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat.Presumably you will be tired and want to sleep. It says that from 20xx to 20xx, elderly people aged over 60 will increase 221 million, an average of 8.6 million annual. elderly proportion of the population increased from 13.3% to 16%, making huge demand pressure on social insurance and pension services.

　　As for this situation, some elderly people are treated as burden by society and their family. Instead, they may cost a lot of money on food, clothing, medical care and medication, etc.

　　On the contrary, they need to spend a lot of time to accompany them. Thus their families don't have enough time to rest and work. 　　Most of the students are in favor of it. In their views, there are two factors contributing to this attitude as follows: on the one hand, there is no doubt that this behavior is our traditional virtue(美德), so it is our duty. On the other hand, offering seats to old people can show our good manners, which leaves deep good impression on other people.

　　However, others are strongly against it. Their reasons are as follows. In the first place, in some foreign cultures, it is not polite to do that because it shows we don’t believe the old people can do things by themselves, which tells them they are too old. What’s more, this behavior doesn’t suit the concept of equality advocated in the contemporary society.
