　　The 21st CENTURY speech contest was held on Friday afternoon in the lecture hall, Gaoxin

　　Campus. It was great. Each grade in our school had a speech contest. Eighteen candidates from Grade Six took part in it. The first three winners would go to the next grade.

　　All of the speakers prepared well for the speech. When the contest began, some of the speakers were very nervous as they were giving speech to the audience.

　　The thing that made me shocked was, when the speakers were giving a speech and the fellow students were so quiet that you could hear the speakers clearly. When our class speakers went up, our whole class was cheering, it was crazy. The speakers delivered their speeches very fluently that I couldn’t even do it so good.

　　I remember all of the speakers talked about their parents. They said all of the good things about their parents, but no one said their flaws. But I think everyone has already done a great job. They all did their best.

　　十二月二十二号，我和五个同学一起来到四眼碶中学参加英语比赛。

　　我们是第三个表演，原本非常自信，可看了前两个表演后，顿时，成了一个个泄了气的气球。就说第二个表演吧，他们演的是英文的“三打白骨精”。内容很多，也非常幽默，原本书中写的`是悟空外出时，唐僧等人在原地休息，而表演的的同学们却改编成了在原地打扑克。这让全场的评委老师和同学都笑了起来。我们也哈哈大笑。不一会儿就到我们了。

　　我们径直走上舞台，快速布置起来。布置完背景后，我按照自己的稿子认真地念了起来。在警察出场时，闹了一个小笑话。我的旁白还没有念完时，警察就出来了。这也注定了我们的分数会下降。表演完了后，我们下场欣赏别的同学的表演了。

　　我看了接下来的表演，有的表演《狐狸偷肉》，有人表演《小红帽》，还有人表演《狐假虎威》等经典的故事，我觉得我们最多只能拿最后一名，所以在心里下定了决心要好好学习英语，成为英语小能手。

　　比赛虽然结束了，但我一定要好好学英语。

　　近些日子，我报名参加了大同市英语翻译比赛。由于复习时间较短，而题的数量多、难度大，所以，要想获得优秀的成绩，只得“勤学苦练”了。这不，今天就要考试了，经过前几天“不分昼夜”的“埋头苦学”，我已准备充分了。俗话说：“临阵磨枪，不快也光。”有了这句话，也让我信心百倍。

　　今天早晨，我和妈妈早早地赶到现场，坐在考场外等候比赛的开始。翻译共分两个环节：口译40分，笔译60分。我们又复习了一会儿，比赛就开始了。首先进行的是笔译，我领到了答题卡和卷子之后，先粗略地浏览了一下卷子，“哇”这么简单的题?不会吧!这种题对我来说简直是张飞吃豆芽——小菜一碟!我有些沾沾自喜，可警觉心却告诫我，千万不可粗心大意呀。我立马醒悟了过来，可万万不可轻敌呀!于是，我开始小心翼翼地跨越这片充满陷阱和“拦路虎”的森林。不一会儿，“堡垒”都被我攻克了，我又一丝不苟地检查了两遍“死亡沼泽”，终于坚定地把卷子交给了老师。我抹了一把汗，就出去等待下一环节了。

　　口译很快就开始了，可是等了一个多小时才终于轮到了我们这一组，我们五人进场后，便都纷纷对序入座，当前两位选手考完后，便轮我上场了。我感到非常紧张，仿佛心脏经过了胃、肠、肝和肺，转了整整一圈又回到了原来的位置上。我让自己努力保持镇定，但腿还在抖个不停，回答得有些结结巴巴，甚至把七点钟说成八点钟，把那个说成了这个。我心想：这下可糟了，一定取不了好成绩了。那样的话我付出的辛苦不就付之东流了吗?想到这儿，我的手心不禁泌出了汗。“现在开始评分!”，我被一个声音从思绪中拉了出来，这时我的心差点儿从嘴里掉出来。可仔细一看，结果令我大吃一惊。两个40分剩下的.是39.5、39、38.5，去掉一个最高分和一个最低分，最后得分39.5分。那时我简直惊呆了，直到老师和同学们向我道贺时，我才回过神，爆发出兴奋的欢呼。

　　虽然我这次取得了小小的成绩，但我一定要在今后学习英语的过程中再接再厉，一定要多听、多看、多说、多写，让英语成为我不可缺少的伙伴，争取更好的成绩。
