　　听说学校要在四,五,六年级各选一名同学去参加英语演讲比赛,四年级选了我,五年级是申紫涵,六年级是马流畅，我们三个每天都在政教处背稿子,迎接“战斗”。

　　可是跟比赛仅一天时间,马流畅很难把稿子读的既流利又有感情,还加上动作,老师不得不把马流畅去掉。

　　现在只剩我和申紫涵,好害怕呀!

　　终于到了比赛的一天,我们的“战地”是市二中。到了那里,我更加紧张了,可当我看到三位评委和蔼可亲的微笑时,却放松了很多。

　　“二号选手,麻雨露”“啊,轮到我了”我心里更慌了 ,这时,坐在我一旁的英语老师鼓励我,说:“别怕,相信自己,你最棒!”

　　我鼓起勇气,走上台开始演讲。因为我是二号选手,后面还有很多同学,所以我们等了很长时间才结束,出来时我的腿都发软了,可老师却说,这次比赛不是为了拿奖,而是为了锻炼我们的'勇气,当然,拿奖最好,但那些都是次要的!

　　谁也没有想到,我竟然晋级了,老师又给我一篇稿子,我现在正在认认真真的背稿子。我相信通过我的努力我还会再晋级的!

　　On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

　　When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasn't looking at me- it was if she didn't respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.

　　After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good mark.Then came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……

　　I must tell everyone in here, when you go to a competition win or lose you shouldn't care. You should care about whether or not you did your best. You need to ask yourself- Did you learn anything for entering this competition? Do you have the courage to read a story to a huge audience?

　　I swim three times a week. Most often I swim in my school. I feel very happy when I swim in school with my friends. I often go to swim with my good friend Lily. She likes swimming,too. And she is very good at it. She always swims better than me. Sometimes I swim in the swimming club near my home during summer holidays. Swimming is not so hard as some people imagine. 　　It is impossible to recall all the past, but I can assure you that my childhood is a pleasant one to me.

　　When I was in kinder garden, I was very popular with my playmates because of my naughtiness. Once I made an arrow, with which I hurt one of my playmates and received scolding from my mother afterwards.

　　When I grew up, my father and mother dare not allow me to play outside. But sometimes when we had time they would bring me to the parks, movies and went swimming.

　　I like swimming very much. Thank them for teaching me swimming. I like to play with my friends because I was only a girl. My mother often scolded me when I didn't get home after school but never too severely.

　　Lily is my close friend who I came to know in No.2 Middle School.

　　Lily is tall and slender with white skin, long-black hair and a blue-frame glasses. She looks beautiful and graceful. She has good characters of considerate and gentle. So she is easy to get along with.

　　当天，英文老师替紧张的我们打扮得引人注目，把脸蛋画上浓浓的妆，帮头发设计造型。到了休息区先加紧认真练习，我们是第十一组，大家有时专注的练习，有时从电视中观赏其他队伍的演出。当到了第十组演出时，我们各个冒出带着不安的汗水，脸色显露出恐惧，而老师则是拉高嗓音，不断的重复「一定得放大音量！」……等等的注意事项，这些提醒使我们更加惶惶不安！

　　「现在，请第十一组上台！」那时，我们各个头皮发麻，全身僵硬，勉强憋住气露出了硬梆梆、不好看的微笑。上台了，我们该大声时大声，并做出夸张的手势，且露出了牙齿，做出邪恶张牙舞爪的动作，下面的观众与评审则是，时而被我们的演出所感染而跟着微笑，时而因我们可怕的表情而露出了受惊吓的神色。下台时，我们把原先僵硬的'脸蛋放轻松。此时，我们自然得露出了浅浅的微笑。

　　「万岁！万岁！我们入选了！」我们在三十二个参赛队中勇夺第五名！这句话在我心中不停的吶喊着、打转着，脸上同时浮现了混杂着骄傲与感动的神情。此刻，老师兴奋的又叫又跳，还自掏腰包买可乐及冰淇淋犒赏我们，这一切都要感谢老师辛苦的教导及同学们合作无间的奋力演出，期许我们在决赛中能够赢得更亮眼的成绩。

　　今天，我和妈妈以及姨妈和万好姐姐一起去参加英语比赛。

　　在比赛的路途中，我们出了一点小插曲：当上了城西干道高架桥时，城西干道上竟然堵车了，车子一动不动，就像一件摆设。我看了一下表，猛地一惊，已经3:45分了，在这样堵下去，我就要迟到了。这可怎么办？我焦急万分。我想到了爱情公寓这部电视剧里的场景，主人公曾小贤被堵在中环路上进退两难，我现在也是这样，最后，我们终于慢慢的移动到了堵车的源头，终于又走上了好走的路。

　　·到了考试地点致远外国语小学了，此时，我的心非常的紧张。虽然我已经会背了我的'演讲稿，也会唱那一首歌，可是我还是觉得很紧张。这时，老师喊到了我，我平复自己的心情，和妈妈一起走进了考场。在考试中，我虽然有些紧张，但努力的大声演讲，我认为讲的非常的不错。可是在最后的时候出了点意外，在老师说："thank you."的时候，我给老师鞠了一躬，就慌慌忙忙的走出了考场，老妈对我说，你也应该讲一下thank you，我觉得这是我的一个失误。
