　　“五一”放假的时候老师给我们布置了一项作业：每人准备一份英语演讲稿，可以是自己的父母、老师、学校，也可以是小动物，或者英语小故事，我准备的是《My family》。“五一”开学以后，老师在班里进行选拔，最后我们班被选中的同学有魏奕博、刘向还有我，老师又对我们进行了多次辅导。老师要求我们首先要把自己的稿子读熟练并读出感情，不能像背书那样速度那么快，在熟练的同时再背诵。我回家后每天都抽时间练习，一段一段地背熟练，让妈妈帮我听，还自己用手机录音听效果。

　　参加英语演讲比赛的共有来自三至六年级的17名同学，他们看起来都信心十足，那些哥哥姐姐们在台上都表现得非常出色。连主持人也是一名英语和一名汉语主持人。我是三年级的一号，快轮到我时我有点小紧张了，害怕自己说不好，我深伸吸了一口气就上台了，结果我说得还比较流利，没有忘词还发挥出了自己最好的.水平。最后有4名同学获得了一等奖，5名同学获得了二等奖，8名同学获得了三等奖。我获得了二等奖。

　　演讲比赛结束了，虽然我这次没有获得一等奖，但我从别人的身上看到了别人的优点和缺点，也看到了自己的优点和缺点，我现在还是一名三年级的学生，还是第一次参加这样的比赛，以后还会有很多机会，这次活动对我来说也锻炼了我的胆量和能力。以后我要好好学习，多多地参加各种活动来锻炼自己。

　　The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.

　　By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start. Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters.

　　There is a rest period between the halves. During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other. The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

　　当我还是高一年级时，我看到台上哥哥姐姐舌灿莲花，充满自信的表现，让我崇拜不已，我期待有一天我也能像他们一样，能站在学校的舞台，尽情的表现自己。没想到当我升上四年级时，竟然意外获得校长的推荐，给了我一个梦寐以求的英语演讲机会。当老师告诉我这个从天上掉下来的消息时，剎那间，我吓得目瞪口呆。

　　我怀着既期待又紧张的心情准备，在练习的过程中，英语老师为了要我适应计时铃声，控制好说完故事的时间，模拟了比赛铃声响起的各种突发状况。当我第一次练习听到催促的铃声，我心想：“天啊！超过时间会被评审扣分！”顿时，我难过得流下伤心的眼泪。老师频频安慰我，要我心平气和熟悉比赛的气氛。

　　经过反覆的练习，我渐渐的适应铃声所带给我的影响，并且能驾轻就熟的把握时间，最后，我终于能在规定时间内说完故事，也得到更多的自信。

　　到了正式比赛的当天，我自信满满带着精心设计的各种道具来到比赛现场。每个参赛对手实力坚强，看到每个人将辛苦练习的成果，淋漓尽致的展现在舞台上，激起了我强大的'斗志。轮到我上台时，我从容自若气定神闲的态度，以及灿烂可爱的笑容，博得评审和观众如雷的掌声，英语老师和亲自前来为我鼓励打气的爸妈都极力称赞我，我对自己的表现给予最高的评价，大家都斩钉截铁的认为冠军非我莫属。

　　当成绩公布时，出乎意料的，我居然名落孙山，当场嚎啕大哭，爸妈只能在一旁安慰鼓励我。

　　虽然这样的结果，让我难过不已，但“要怎么收获先那么栽”，我坚信只要我持续不懈，总有一天能为学校争取荣誉，我的努力将为自己种出一片幸福的花田。

　　我疾步来到那里，大厅里早已人山人海，热闹非凡。我的心里既激动又紧张，因为今天我和杨丝雨第一次代表全班上台参加比赛。

　　主持人宣布比赛开始了。原本热闹非凡的大厅立刻安静了下来。大家都屏住呼吸，等待着选手们精彩、生动的表演。选手们有的信心十足，昂首挺胸地走上台；有的摩拳擦掌准备上台展示自己的绝技：有的'一刻不停地默默背诵参赛内容……

　　“请13号选手做好准备！”我耳边响起主持人的声音，不禁打了个寒颤。“什么，这么快就到我们了，不会吧？”我和杨丝雨硬着头皮走上台，望着台下无数双眼睛，面对我班同学鼓励的微笑，我不停地安慰自己：同学们都看着你，不能给班级丢脸啊！”可是。我的脑子太不争气了，连第一句台词都抛到九霄云外了。怎么办？怎么办？正当我心急如焚时，耳边响起了杨丝雨的声音，原来，第一句是我和杨丝雨一起说的，我大大地松了口气。紧接着，我们流利地讲着准备好的英语故事，一切顺利。当我们的表演结束时，大厅里热烈的掌声使我感到一丝放松。下台后，我才发现，我的腿竟然还在不停地微微颤抖。

　　On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

　　When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasn't looking at me- it was if she didn't respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.

　　After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good mark.Then came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……
