　　Today, we have a hula hoop competition. The teacher said, "start!" We started to turn. 　　当我还是高一年级时，我看到台上哥哥姐姐舌灿莲花，充满自信的表现，让我崇拜不已，我期待有一天我也能像他们一样，能站在学校的舞台，尽情的表现自己。没想到当我升上四年级时，竟然意外获得校长的推荐，给了我一个梦寐以求的英语演讲机会。当老师告诉我这个从天上掉下来的消息时，剎那间，我吓得目瞪口呆。

　　我怀着既期待又紧张的心情准备，在练习的过程中，英语老师为了要我适应计时铃声，控制好说完故事的时间，模拟了比赛铃声响起的各种突发状况。当我第一次练习听到催促的铃声，我心想：“天啊！超过时间会被评审扣分！”顿时，我难过得流下伤心的眼泪。老师频频安慰我，要我心平气和熟悉比赛的气氛。

　　经过反覆的练习，我渐渐的适应铃声所带给我的`影响，并且能驾轻就熟的把握时间，最后，我终于能在规定时间内说完故事，也得到更多的自信。

　　到了正式比赛的当天，我自信满满带着精心设计的各种道具来到比赛现场。每个参赛对手实力坚强，看到每个人将辛苦练习的成果，淋漓尽致的展现在舞台上，激起了我强大的斗志。轮到我上台时，我从容自若气定神闲的态度，以及灿烂可爱的笑容，博得评审和观众如雷的掌声，英语老师和亲自前来为我鼓励打气的爸妈都极力称赞我，我对自己的表现给予最高的评价，大家都斩钉截铁的认为冠军非我莫属。

　　当成绩公布时，出乎意料的，我居然名落孙山，当场嚎啕大哭，爸妈只能在一旁安慰鼓励我。

　　虽然这样的结果，让我难过不已，但“要怎么收获先那么栽”，我坚信只要我持续不懈，总有一天能为学校争取荣誉，我的努力将为自己种出一片幸福的花田。
