下午第一节课，英语试卷发下来了。有许多同学都考了八九十分，可我只考了28分。
整个下午，我都没有心思上课。上课时，我总在想，我答应妈妈要考80分以上的，可是我却只考了28分，回家去怎么交待呀！老师似乎知道了我的心里在想什么，下课后把我叫到办公室，用手摸着我的'头问：“你上课怎么了？无精打采的，是不是有什么心事？”我低着头，吞吞吐吐地说：“我……我这一次没有考好。”老师笑着说：“那下一次好好考不就行了。”我小声应道：“嗯！”
回到家里，我满脸通红，用惊恐的眼光望着妈妈说：“妈妈，对不起，我不应该……”我一边说，一边把考卷递给了妈妈。妈妈只瞟了一眼试卷，就一巴掌打了过来，说道：“你这个不争气的东西！”
那天，我没有哭，因为我知道：我对不起妈妈。
从那以后，我认真学习英语，终于把英语成绩赶上来了，每次考试都能拿到85分以上。我想，这与当初的那一耳光是有关的。
