　　Last week,one of classmates said,"do you want a bet?" I asked,"what for?" the classmate replied,"do you dare to had a running race with Tony." I answered,"Why not?" Unfortunately,I lost the running race,because I din't know he was a good runner,and Tony ran so fast.Before running race,I bet him $$200.00 that I would win for the running race.In fact,I not only lost the competition,but also lost $$200.00.

　　今天是英语比赛的复赛，我和爸爸早上早早的起床，然后出去吃早餐，我们到车站坐上车以后，我惊奇的发现我和聂泽坤做的竟然是同一班车！我们因为离得很远，所以路上没有说话。到了以后爸爸给我买了一瓶水就打出租车来到了我们比赛地点广电大厦，我们向保安人员问清了演播厅在哪儿，就去了，正好又碰上了聂泽坤，他正好也要进去，我觉得我们像有缘分一样。然后老师要开始点名了，因为姓名在电脑上，所以我就和聂泽坤一起看了看名单，发现乔尚卿（2班的一位同学）第一，聂泽坤第二我第三，我们还发现，指导教师应该都是于海洋（Ms yu）,乔尚卿的却被打成了丁海洋！我和聂泽坤都笑了起来。

　　开始点名了，我们在点名的桌子前面站成两排，乔尚卿抽了34号，聂泽坤抽了33号，而我却抽了14号！我们离得太远了，就连不会的单词都不能互相问一下。比赛开始了我们来到一个大厅里，在里面按顺序坐好，开始抽纸条，上面写着单词，后面写着几个人表演，我抽了一个纸条上面写着：Look snake help a boy （4人）。一个工作人员就又找了3个人和我合作。我们编排的故事情节大体是这样的：一个男孩在森林里散步，忽然看见了一条蛇，有两个小女孩路过，救起了小男孩，杀死了那条蛇。我上台比赛的时候非常紧张，但是虽然心里紧张，表面上却看不出来，我相信在选手里面我是最放松的一个。最后经过好久的比赛，评出了成绩，我的成绩不太理想，不过还是得了一等奖，我惊喜的`跳了起来，心里准备参加下一次比赛，但是后来工作人员的一句话泼了我一身冷水：特等奖的才有机会参加山东省的决赛！

　　唉~~我已经努力了，不过我相信我会在双语比赛中获得冠军，加油！

　　Dear John,

　　Thank you for your kind letter. You told me that you and most of you classmates went out for a three-day trip. I really think it fun. Now let me tell you something about a speech contest, which I have taken part in.

　　The contest was held at the playground last Saturday morning, 7:00a.m. The panel is made up of 5 English teachers from our school, all of whom were experienced. Moreover, a total number of 20 competitors came from we Grade 2. It was made a rule that the top 3 competitors would be awarded. It is a great competition and all the participants perform well. I was so lucky that I won the first place.

　　记得那是三年级的一天，我们正在上课，程老师面带笑容地走进教师，把我叫到办公室，并高兴地对我说：“你已被定为参加英语歌比赛的一名选手。”我听后，心里就像十五个吊桶打水——七上八下，一时不知所措，不由地皱起了眉头。

　　老师见我一副为难的样子，知道了我的心思。笑着对我说：“是不是有点紧张？”我点点头。老师又说：“其实呀，我第一次当老师也是像你这样，但是我对自己充满信心，再加上努力学习，充分备课，这样一天天下来也就不紧张了，懂吗？”我似懂非懂地点点头。

　　以后，我早早起来就背英语单词，晚上吃好晚饭做完作业又背英语单词，经过我的'不懈努力，终于把英语单词背熟了。可是我的感情还不够到位，所以又在课余时间请老师指导。

　　比赛那天不知不觉就到了，我和爸爸、程老师到了歙县教育局的多媒体教室，这里可真是人山人海啊！......终于轮到我唱了。我拿着话筒，既高兴又紧张，高兴的是有机会站在台前唱英语歌，为校争光；紧张的是：毕竟是第一次唱英语歌，怕唱不好，闹笑话。但在台下，有爸爸给我加油，老师给我鼓励。于是，我鼓足勇气，唱了起来......唱完后，我用目光搜寻着爸爸和老师，他们正满意地对我笑呢！

　　上个月，希望之星昂立英语大赛报名了！我兴奋不已，立刻报上名，拿到了一个名额。

　　报上名后我才知道，全市有二千多人参加这次比赛，选拔赛后只有500个晋级名额，一听到这个消息，我马上像泄了气的皮球，没有信心了。那天晚上，轮到我上场了，我从容地走上台，勉强把稿子背了一遍，下台后才发现嘴里竟还含着口香糖呢！没想到公布成绩时我竟然也晋级了！真让我又惊讶又高兴！

　　the game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on friday night. long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.

　　by seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. the school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. they started to play at about a quarter to eight. everybody stood up, and the people sang. the game was about to start. two teams ran out to the floor. the referee blew his whistle, and the game started. a basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. there is a rest period between the halves. during the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. from then on, the game was very exciting. first one team made a basket, then the other. the people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

　　the ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. the whistle blew and the game was over. home team won, 70 to 68.
