城市生活英文作文(通用23篇)

  城市生活英文作文 1

Life in the city is very different from life in the villages and on the farms. People in large cities are much more careful to respect the privacy of the individual. Sometimes this feeling seems to be one of indifference, but it is a convention of city life to curb ones curiosity about the personal affairs of strangers. Villagers and farmers are likely to show a great deal of interest in all their neighbors. Opportunities for bright young people are greater in the cities and there has been a steady stream of hopeful jobseekers from the villages and farms to the large metropolitan areas.

  城市生活英文作文 2

Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people hold the idea of living in the country, while others prefer living in the city. In my opinion, I prefer the city life, though it has advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, city life is very colorful. City is the center of the surrounding area. So, it is also the most booming place having the best things. There are many great things and wonderful activities in the city, while there isn’t in the country. For example, there are KFC, wonderful shopping mall, delicious food from various places, dancing club, different kinds of activities and so on. We can also learn the culture from all the countries. Despite city life is so wonderful, it still has many disadvantages. Nowadays, with the improvement of people’s living standard, people have more cars and more people come to city, and then the city becomes more and more crowd. As a result, traffic jam emerges, which makes great inconvenience for people to go out. What’s worse, the air pollution becomes serious day by day, which is bad for people’s health.

To sum up, every coin has two sides. Living in the city also has good side and bad aspect. Whether like living in city or not depends on individual thinking. As myself, I like living in city though I know the disadvantage of living in city.

  城市生活英文作文 3

What I expect for city life is not just about drink bars, shopping mall, entertainment center etc, although they are indeed better than the facility in the rural areas. What I expect for city life is a clearer environment, not only in the surroundings but also in peoples spirit. I hope the people around me are all good mannered with politeness and courtesy, there is no quarrel, no battle, people treat each other with respect. I hope there would be no traffic jam as in Beijing our country capital today where traffic jam happened everyday, which make the citizens feel depressed and great pressure.

  城市生活英文作文 4

Do you want to live in the city or the country?

I like to live in the country that the sun rises in the morning with the first golden light & the first sound from the cock.. All the animals & plants begin their life from this moment on and some of the animals begin their sleeping the new day. This is a very beautiful beginning in the world that you just can see all these in the country not in the city.

And for people , the people in the country are kind although they are ungrace-ful .that is not important that you will feel what is the realest in the friendship of people.

Are people kinder in the city or the country?

The people live in the country is kinder than the people live in the city . this is so sure that I just feel all this from my grandparents . My grandpatents both are country people. Their family is poor that they even do not have more money after they finish all their meals.but my mother was so so interested in studying. My grandparents got five children & gave the choice to study to allof them .

  城市生活英文作文 5

Living in a city has both advantages and disadvantages. It is often easier to find work. There are always many choices of public transport. Besides, there are a lot of interesting things to do and places to see. You can eat in good restaurants, visit museums, go to cinemas and go to parks whenever you want to relax. However, living in a city is often very expensive. You must find a well-paid job, otherwise, you will not be able to afford the things you will do. Whats more, the city is always crowded, noisy and dirty. It is very difficult to find a good place where people can enjoy peace and fresh air as in the countryside.

  城市生活英文作文 6

When it comes to the choice between city life and suburban life ,everyone has their own plan.Longing for quiet and comfortable life, someone prefer to live in the countryside or the suburb. However, someone may think the city life is more suitable for them because they enjoy the prosperity and convenience of modern city.

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to choose the suburban life.As a student from countryside, I have the inherent and close affinity to the suburban life.In my impression to the suburb, the environment is very good :the sky is blue, the air is fresh and the water is clear. When you are free, you can read a book under the tree, with soft wind blowing and bird singing.I bet you will never experience the same scene if you live in the city because of the bad environment and stressful life there.

As the saying goes:”Each coin has two sides”,the suburban life is also not perfect.Because of the weakness of road infrastructure and slow development of

economy, the living standard in the suburb is much lower than that in city, which will bring us difficulties in some

respect. To deal with it,we can go to city to get what we need regularly.

In brief, compared to the city life, I prefer the

suburban life. Finally,I sincerely hope my hometown will be more and more beautiful day by day.

  城市生活英文作文 7

It is only natural that I have grown up with an intense interest in architecture and urban planning; after all, China has a five thousand year old history of architectural achievements such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Therefore, when I ranked second in the county on the university entrance exam, I chose to pursue architecture as my undergraduate specialty at Southeast University. As an undergraduate, I developed a solid foundation of knowledge in the field. My favorite course was architectural designing, where I was able to express myself and my originality through my drafts and models. More importantly, the designing process helped me to understand all aspects of architecture, from the inside to the outside of individual buildings and how those buildings interact with the external environment. I graduated with honors and worked in the Nan Ning designing institute under the government’s Ministry of Light Industry.

During my three years there, I developed an even deeper understanding of architecture and its relationship with the environment while I was engaged in a series of designing plans for bids and practical engineering designing. I also participated in a designing contest in Guangxi province, working around the clock, where I was honored to be awarded the second prize for my nearly perfect design at the Design Competition for Residential Areas of Nan Ning City.

My work experience taught me that in today’s world, a new perspective is necessary in architecture that stresses totality and an overall systematic outlook in the building of cities. I studied very hard and was accepted into the postgraduate program in urban planning and design in Tsinghua University, one of the most prestigious universities in China. There I realized that I was more interested in general urban space rather than the individual buildings themselves, which has led me to conduct research on my dissertation with the working title of “Research on the Open Space Along Streets”. Professional designing of urban living space must be able to meet the demands of city life while simultaneously harmonizing itself with the surrounding architecture and environment. Particularly in China, we must strive to combine the elements of nature, society and the economy to create living space that maintains an ecological perspective while allowing for sustainable development. I am currently researching the effect of the widening of space between buildings and streets in Beijing as result of the growing transportation needs of the city and road construction. Useable land in cities is shrinking and we must consider how to systematically create proper green and open space along streets, which is the thesis that I intend to verify in my dissertation.

This leads to the main motivation for pursuing my Ph.D. to learn more systematic and advanced theoretical theories as well as more practical means of implementation from the more developed countries of the west, which have already undergone tremendous development and redevelopment of cities. In China in the past two decades, with the increasing encroachment of commercialization, the cities have been poorly planned with serious damage to historical areas with few proper public spaces. China’s process of urbanization is increasing at an astronomic rate, now at 40% compared with 80% for most developed Western countries. I plan to earn my Ph.D. and return to China to do everything that I can to ensure that I can serve society by creating beautiful and harmonious working and living environments for people in our cities.

Three faculty members that I would like to work with at the University of Washington include Dr. Marina Alberti, Dr. Kristina Hill and Dr. Robert Mugerauer. Dr. Alberti can help me further my research into urban ecology and impact assessment, while Dr. Hill could also help me with urban ecology as well as GIS mapping and spatial patterns of land use. Dr. Mugerauer would be extremely helpful in guiding me further into the study of sustainability and the impact of technology in built and natural environments, values, social and cultural factors in design and planning, and theory and current research methods, all of which are areas that will help to develop my utmost potential as an urban planner and designer in China.

My intended course of study at the University of Washington will follow the path that will best prepare me for my career as an urban planner in China. For the first year, I will probably take Urban Form, Urban Ecology, American Urban History, Urban Spatial Analysis, Land Use and Transportation Models, Land Use Planning, Transportation Planning and Environmental Planning, which I believe will fulfill my core curriculum requirements. My primary research interests while at your university will lie in finding the ways and means of current domestic city planning and designing to integrate social and economic conditions with ecological thinking according to the natural local conditions. I would like to find more ways to make the plans and designs more practical while simultaneously making the residences more environmentally friendly. In this way, I can help to make urban areas in China more sustainable, with more greenery, more fresh air, and more closely related with nature.

In the future, I plan to seek a senior teaching position to help develop future urban planners in China. In addition, I would like to join an institute of urban planning in Beijing for at least two reasons. First, China’s rapid economic growth will continue to promote the rate of urbanization. Good urban planners will be a necessity to ensure that urban growth is well planned and controlled. Secondly, Beijing will be the host city of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Massive construction projects for the necessary sports facilities will provide great opportunities for urban designing and planning.

In summary, I have a dream to become one of the top urban planners and designers in all of China to promote healthy and ecologically friendly urban growth. With a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, I will have the solid educational foundation that I need to fulfill that dream.

  城市生活英文作文 8

The alarming gaps between urban and rural areas in such arena as education facilities, the readiness to access to medical care, and living convenience spark a suggestion that the tyros in education business and medical care should work in countryside for a period of time. This suggestion is rather problematic.

The most harmful thing in this suggestion is not the suggestion per se. Rather it is the motivations. The purpose of this proposal is clearly not to help those rural people. On the contrary, it is to provide the tyros with an opportunity to practice. This is clearly unfair because those who live in the rural areas are fundamentally equal to urban dwellers. Why do not give them the mature teachers and good doctors?

In fact, the suggestion suffers logical drawbacks in reasoning. It is claimed to improve the conditions of rural areas. Its approach is to send the beginners or novices to work there. Clearly, it is assumed that the tyros are able to help. Nevertheless, this assumption is feeble and fragile. Compared with the experienced doctors and experts in teaching, novices are less competent. For instance, in the primary and secondary schools in the main land of China, beginners in teaching careers hinder the development of students and cause serious troubles in various aspects. Many students become victims. In case of hospital service or medical care, things would be more formidable.

Clearly, it is harmful to ask beginners in teaching career and medical care to work in the rural areas where people virtually demand experts and professors.

Our city is a new and developing city, and was builtat the beginning of 1980s. The infrastructure for water, gas, electricity and other energy in thisarea is complete and sufficient. From here one can travel to any place by sea, by air or by land. And there is a highway leading to the capital, Beijing. Besides there are many other advantagesfor the investors to work here. For example, the areas around this city are rich in naturalresources. The public order is very nice and so on. The most impor ant. thing is that thegovernment of this city supports foreign investors in many respects. In a sentence, this city isfilled with enthusiasm and vigor. It is a good place for investors.

  城市生活英文作文 10

With the rapid economic development, people’s living conditions are improved by a large margin, including countryside and big cities. However, there are many differences between them, such as living conditions, consumptive level and interpersonal relationships, etc.

In the first place, there is a tremendous contrast between the living conditions of countryside and that of big cities. Living in big cities, you can get everything you want as soon as possible so long as you have enough money, such as all kinds of delicious food, good medical conditions and so on. And the transportation is very convenient, though it often happens to meet a traffic jam. There are many buses, while taking a bus during the rush hours can be a bit of a bind. In contrast, living in countryside, you will find there is no place for you to consume even if you have much money, because the condition is not allowed. You can’t get anything you want in time, such as all kinds of delicious food across the country and the medical treatment in need. Nevertheless, there is little chance to meet a traffic jam because of the easy of access.

Secondly, the consumptive level in big cities is much higher than that in rural areas. In big cities, people usually choose nutritious food for their main meals and refuel now and then. And when they go shopping, they must pay the utmost attention to the high quality and they don’t like to knock down-price. Conversely, living in countryside, people prefer to have food which can make them feel satisfied. Meanwhile, in their eyes, they prefer buying superior quality products at a reasonable price, and they are still desirous to knock down-price.

Another difference is in the interpersonal relationships. People who live in big cities are more apartness, while people who live in countryside enthusiastic and friendly to others. The old saying goes “a distant relative is not as good as a near neighbour” is well presented in countryside. Living in countryside, people always hung together when one of them was in trouble. But living in big cities, it is normal that you can’t recognize someone who is your neighbor.

In short, life in countryside and life in big cities are quit different in standard of living, habits and customs, etc. We can’t say which is more suitable for live, because every coin has two sides.

  城市生活英文作文 11

Our modern city is too crowded, and to solve the problem, three proposals are put forward. Most people believe that we should fist practise the policy Late Marriage and One Couple, One Child in order to reduce the birth rate. Secondly, the city government must have a tight control over rural people entering cities to engage themselves in trade or do various physical jobs so as to lessen the pressure on the city caused by the increased population. Finally more and more people suggest that living blocks with shopping centers, schools, hospitals as well as cinemas and theatres round them or even satellite towns should be built in city suburbs or the countryside round the cities. In this way city citizens will be encouraged to move there to live and work. If these three proposals are well carried out, the city population will be greatly reduced.

  城市生活英文作文 12

modernization and urbanization bring both benefits and problems. in order to solve the problem of housing, high-rise buildings have been and are being put up in ever greater numbers in more and more big cities.

high-rise buildings have their advantages and disadvantages, of course. in urban areas where land is expensive, they take up less space. some people say that high-rise buildings can give a city striking beauty. some buildings are apartments, which can house hundreds of families under one roof.on the other hand, high-rise buildings may be dangerous.what if there is a fire or an earthquake? what if power and water are in short supply? in addition, high-rise buildings/blocks may not be suitable for children and old people.

to conclude, it goes without saying that high-rise buildings are necessary, but their number should be limited.at the same time, effective measures must be taken to solve such problems as the supply of water and power.

People who live in cities can enjoy the coveniences of hospitals, schools and colleges, places of entertainment, various shops, and modern means of transport. But they have to endure noise, dirty air, traffic jams and crowded housing conditions.
