面试准备工作
面试前一天,注意饮食卫生,晚上打点好装备,早点休息。除非应聘时尚类职位,当天的穿着要正式一点,服装的颜色宜选冷色或中性色,饰物、手表等不要过分夸张;如果是夏天,衣服要有领有袖,不要穿短裤。头发要整齐,皮鞋要擦亮:如果是女生,可以化点淡妆,给人干净清爽的感觉。如果面试安排在下午,午饭要少吃一些,以免影响状态。估计时间差不多了,嘴里嚼块口香糖,带好装备和地址电话就出发吧,最好能提前10分钟到达面试地点,进门前关掉手机和呼机。此关没什么难度,考验的是你的细心准备。
进入接待室
向接待者说明自己的应聘者身份,很多情况下会立即与面试官见面。如果需要等一段时间,接待者会指定地方让你坐等的,你可以看看自己带的杂志,也可以观察一下公司的情况,或看看公司的宣传资料以把握最新信息,但不要幅度很大地东张西望。在某些时候,你会得到一份笔试题,不要紧张,把水平都发挥出来吧。如果笔试成绩出色,往往你已经一只脚踏进这家公司了。更多时候你会得到一张让你填写一些技能、项目经验之类的问卷,如果有期望薪资,请填写“面议”,这样有利于接下来的薪资协商。此关的关键一是态度要礼貌,二是心情要自然。做到这两点,便可轻松过关。
开始面试
这点是最关键的。面试的形式有多种,也可能会有好几轮面试,你可能会单独面对两个以上的面试官,也可能和其他应试者一起面试。不同的情况你要有不同的对策,1、但首先一条,在任何情况下都不要慌张。如果是多人一起面试,你一定要大胆表现自己,这种场合下,面试官注重的是面试者的综合素质。不要害怕开口,不说话比说错话还可怕,第一轮淘汰的往往就是不说话的。
2、多数情况下,你会有一个单独面试的机会,这才是你面试的决定性时刻,有时会是几个部门的负责人一起面试你,有时仅有一个面试官。一般先出场的总是这个职位所在部门的负责人,他们的目标是通过提问来判断你是否有能力和诚意担任你所申请的职位。对于面试中的提问,如果有充分的准备,大多数应聘者都可以应付自如,即使出现新的问题,举一反三也不是难事。
要注意会察言观色,并保持自然诚恳的态度,认真倾听面试官的提问,判断他提问的目的,从而做出简明清晰的回答。尤其要注意的是不要被面试官的态度所影响,无论他流露出蔑视你还是欣赏你的意思。在回答关于你的经历的提问时,千万不要用含贬义的词语来谈论你以前的上司或公司,因为面试官此时正处于上司和公司的'立场上,对你不会有任何认同感的。而面对有关特长技能的提问,大胆表现再加上生动实例可以增加可信度。
3、薪资问题是面试中比较重要的部分,一旦面试官司提起此类话题,说明他对你还是有一定兴趣的,但面试人员可能早已在心里确定好了你的薪金范围,此时的主要目的只是试探试探你。
正确的对策应该是以守为攻。此时你就算了解此行业现行的工资水平,或是该公司的工资水平,还是不要说出具体的数额。你可以反问对方,该职位在公司的大致薪资水平。即使不得不说,你要先诚恳地询问公司给予此职位的待遇如何,公司整体的薪资福利如何,然后再根据情况回答,切记协商时要给自己和面试官留出余地。当然,如果面试官没有提及薪资,你也不可着急询问,可在复试时进行咨询。
作为面试官提问的结束,通常会询问你有什么问题,不能回答没有,也不要泛泛而问,你可以询问公司运作状况,所申请职位的具体工作内容等,表现出你对公司有一定兴趣和诚意。最后别忘了请面试官留下联系电话或名片以备日后联系之用。过此关的主动权不在你的手上,所以不必苛求完美,你的目标就是表现出最佳状态,令面试官司认为你的综合素质足以胜任所申请的职位。至于结果如何,只能是“谋事在人,成事在天”了。
态度善始善终,不要有情绪上的浮动
面试官一般会告诉你在一周内给你回复,但没有回音也是常有的事,你也不必干等。最好在面试结束后一周内,给面试官打电话或者去信表示感谢,询问面试结果,并进一步表达你对这份工作的热情。这一关虽说是举手之劳,可千万别忽略,或许它会给你带来极大的转机。

情况简介(注:本案例中的姓名为化名)
看了张源的简历,对于其目前的状况、做过些什么、能做些什么、有些什么能力和特长没有任何概念,但通过与她的交流,得知其人与所应聘的职位其实是非常匹配的,职位所要求的任职资格“Qualifications”她都具备:
虽然张源具备了以上职位广告中提出的任职资格,但在简历中却未能够突显出来,因此,这样一份简历不能够吸引招聘人员的眼球,很可能第一关就被淘汰出局了。这份英文简历非常不专业,显得很幼稚,出现了很多错误:
①撰写英文简历,要遵循“user-friendly”原则,要处处替简历阅读者着想,为对方创造便利。HR每天要给数十名候选人打电话约见面试,手机号码的写法需规范,这份简历遵循了4-3-4的原则,方便拨打。但忽略固定电话则不应该。另外,还应该增加联系地址信息。(若是跨城市找工作,没有当地联系地址,则不写地址信息:因为若不是急需人才,用人单位可能会考虑到交通成本问题而不给面试机会。)
②③④⑤是求职意向。这份英文简历写成这样,很明显是在海投,没有度身定制。②表明求职者正在找全职工作。③期望行业,建议一份简历只写一种,不要出现“etc”(等等)字眼,更何况出现拼写错误。④若非跨地区求职,可不必特别注明期望地点,若是大型跨国公司,可以注明一下,用人单位会尽量考虑你的期望。⑤“Negotiable”(薪酬可议)这句话相当于没写。显然,这是受到一些在线简历模版的影响,若是定制个性化英文简历,建议不要采用这些简历模板,而应取长补短。
⑥若非招聘广告特别注明,不必随同简历发送照片。公司招人主要看求职者知识、技能,看你毕业的学校和专业,看你接受过什么样的培训,参加过哪些项目,做过哪些工作。不要寄希望凭借外貌增加HR好感。如果公司明确要求附照片,则照办不误。
⑦工作经历部分写得太简单,标题出现拼写错误“Extra-curriculars”。我想求职者在这里是想表示“课外活动”的意思,那么可以用“extracurricularactivities”,如果拿不准,可以用“experience”或者“socialwork”等简单词语代替。另外语言实在太简单了,没有有效展示自己。
⑧所获荣誉部分出现了拼写错误。如“activities”容易拼错,“Top10literaturalpace-setter”我想求职者可能是指“十佳标兵”,但此处“literatural”是杜撰的词语,想说得简单点,可用“Top10BestStudents”来表示,其实是十个最优秀的学生之一嘛,不过就是中文词汇丰富了些,变换了说法而已。
⑨列出的课程过多,可将它们移至教育背景栏目下,并简单列出与应聘职位相关的课程,像“hotelmanagement”之类的就没必要提了。
⑩自我评价非常主观,用人单位其实要看你具体做了些什么。张源却把很多精力放在这里,寄希望全面展示优点,显然,这种想法是错误的。首先,这部分使用了大段文字,占据很大比重,无法引起HR的兴趣和注意力。要想抓住HR眼球,千万不要长篇大论,最好用简短有力的关键词和点句。简历中不应出现第一人称代词,这样显得不专业。如果你是与面试官面对面的交流,可以使用“I”、“we”等,但简历不应该出现“I”、“My”等字词,同时也应尽量减少非实义词语如代词、助词的`出现频率。
问题总结
这份英文简历没有经过精雕细琢,格式、字体不够统一,拼写错误时常出现,这样的简历在招聘人员看来,首先是态度问题,然后是能力问题,被淘汰是在所难免的。
当然,这份英文简历最失败的地方就在于没把能力充分展现出来,无法向招聘人员证明自己的能力,不能够说服招聘人员约见自己。在撰写简历时,如果能仔细研究招聘广告,当我们与所应聘的职位匹配程度越高,胜出的几率也就越大。
为什么要进行这样的修改呢?我们一一阐释:
①撰写英文简历时,开头就清楚地标明姓名及联系方式。HR看简历时,先看工作经历、学术背景,觉得差不多可以约见面试了,才看个人信息,
②英语地址写法应遵循由小到大的原则,正好与中文的反过来,先写××房间,××号,然后再写××路,××市,邮编,××省,国名。邮编的标准写法是放在市名之后,也可以放在省名之后,但一定要放在China之前。 ③把求职意向写得明确一些,让招聘人员明白你正在寻找什么职位。也可以紧跟着证明自己能够胜任这份工作的能力和资格。④简历栏目不宜过多,一般不超过五个,否则显得凌乱。在所学课程之下,罗列相关课程,如这里列出市场营销、管理学、商务英语等课程,能从增强阅读者对求职者的立体感。⑤⑥⑦是工作经验部分,遵循从最近工作经验写起的原则。在经历描述中,有详有略,最近经历要重点阐述,用人单位最感兴趣的是你目前正在做的,对于过去,兴趣会降低许多;相关经历要多写。⑤与目标职位最为接近,要对照目标职位的描述挖掘曾经做过的工作;⑥展示了英文水平;而⑦说明人际交流和沟通能力。每个工作描述所展示的技能都与目标职位息息相关。⑧根据任职要求有针对性地罗列技能,包括语言、计算机技能。张源在简历中没有提到自己的中文水平,比较遗憾。另外提到日语会话能力,增色不少。⑨在与张源沟通后发现的较有特色的兴趣爱好及特长。不具体的爱好和特长不写,以免在简历中留下话柄,面试中将会陷自己于不利的境地。例如,一般人喜欢说自己爱好读书、旅游、音乐等,假如面试官也是个音乐爱好者,与你攀谈起来,就露馅了。张源喜欢弹吉他和跳健美操,曾作为领队带领健美操队在校年度晚会上表演过,这一点使形象更加丰满。
