　　“春节好”英语怎么说

　　把“春节好”说成Happy Chinese New Year——媒体连篇累牍，央视锵鸣琳琅，让人冷不丁地一想，这对吗？

　　其中的Chinese是什么意思？

　　Chinese指中国人的、中国的？中国有56个民族，都是中国人。但是，中国人并非都过春节，许多少数民族没有春节。如果此处把Chinese理解为“中国人的”，对少数民族来说，岂不是张冠李戴？少数民族有自己一年中最盛大的节日，会穿上盛装，戴上花帽庆祝。人家有自己的花帽，而你对人家说“春节好”，给人家戴上一顶张冠，是否有点儿唐突呢？反过来说，人家不过春节，就不是中国人了？如果此处把Chinese理解为“中国的国土”，那么少数民族广大的区域是不是中国的？那些区域不过春节，就不是中国的国土了？

　　Chinese指汉族？这也有问题。当NBA球星在央视轮番现身，一个个用标准的发音一遍遍喊着Happy Chinese New Year时，他们只是说句你们让说的英语，拿到广告费完事。美国和中国一样，也是一个多民族、多信仰的国家。如果反过来，让他们在圣诞节对美国人民喊Merry American Day，他们绝对不敢干，那可能会涉及种族歧视，比Clippers（快船队）的老板的下场还要惨。* 而Merry Christmas却是所有美国人都可以接受，因为圣诞节和耶稣的诞生没有关系，那只是一个一年中最欢乐的节日而已。

　　世界上过春节的国家不止中国，凡是使用过阴历纪年的国家都有春节，如越南、韩国、朝鲜、新加坡、马来西亚、日本等。把“春节”冠名Chinese，中国专属，周边国家会不会不舒服呢？

　　因此，Happy Chinese New Year不仅不准确，也是不妥当的。

　　媒体上，也有把“春节好”说成Happy Spring Festival的。这是汉英直译，表达不出New Year欢庆的含义。而且这种译法也不准确，因为Spring Festival（春天里的节日）为什么就只能指“春节”呢？元宵节、二月二龙抬头、寒食节、清明节不都是春天里的节日吗？

　　其实，“春节”译成英语不复杂，只是要知道中国人为什么过两个年，弄清其区别就解决了。一月一日叫New Year，那是阳历年。正月初一是阴历年。阴历是以月亮绕地球的运转周期制定的。因此，把“春节好”说成Happy Lunar New Year（lunar月球的，阴历的）更准确、更妥当、更贴切。
