Hello, everybody! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everybody. All right, everybody go ahead and have a seat. How is everybody doing today? (Applause.) How about Tim Spicer? (Applause.) I am here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, from kindergarten through 12th grade. And I am just so glad that all could join us today. And I want to thank Wakefield for being such an outstanding host. Give yourselves a big round of applause. (Applause.)I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of you in kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it’s your first day in a new school, so it’s understandable if you’re a little nervous. I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now -- (applause) -- with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you’re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer and you could’ve stayed in bed just a little bit longer this morning.I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived overseas. I lived in Indonesia for a few years. And my mother, she didn’t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school, but she thought it was important for me to keep up with an American education. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday. But because she had to go to work, the only time she could do it was at 4:30 in the , as you might imagine, I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. And a lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and she’d say, “This is no picnic for me either, buster.” (Laughter.)So I know that some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I’m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what’s expected of all of you in this new school at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, the best schools in the world -- and none of it will make a difference, none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities, unless you show up to those schools, unless you pay attention to those teachers, unless you listen to your parents and grandparents and other adults and put in the hard work it takes to succeed. That’s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education.I want to start with the responsibility you have to yourself. Every single one of you has something that you’re good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That’s the opportunity an education can provide.

My review of The King`s Speech

The success of the king`s speech lies in his strong perseverance as well as an equal and trustful relationship has been built between the king and Dr Longue.

There is no doubt that the king is a man with a strong will, which is one factor of his success order to overcome his stuttering problem,he meets many doctors and suffers a lot,but he always doesn`t give the beginning of the film,he puts up with the suffer of ingr seven marbles, which gets him angry at still goes to see Dr Longue although he has told his wife not to introduce any doctors to him des,he insists on repeating tongue twisters even when he goes out to persuade his brother David.

Another factor is that there is a relationship with total equality and g to the king is faithful in Lionel,he can accept his special methods without hesitation, such as

jumping ,shouting ,rolling on the ground, to the equality and trust, the king considers Lionel as his friend, and shares what he has experienced when he was a child and his fear of his father and that Lionel gives the king faith in his voice and makes him believe in himself through communication with the king and stimulation by siting on Saint Edward`s chair. Therefore, the king can have courage to give a successful speech and becomes the symbol of nation resistence.

  Respected leaders, teachers, dear classmates:

  How do you do!

Today, we are gathered here to hold the 20xx primary school graduation ceremony. On behalf of all the teachers of the school, I congratulate all the students who have completed six years of primary school, and I pay great respect to the graduating teachers who dedicate their blood and wisdom to the healthy growth of their classmates.

Six years of learning time is short, beautiful and unforgettable. Remember? When you first entered the campus in the first grade, you cried and went home. Did your mother cry with you? Remember? Your teacher clutched the young you, and watered your love for the school with love. Every activity organized by the school, you take an active part in it, add luster to the alma mater, remember? On the athletic field, your strong figure, excellent sports achievements... All the plants and schools in the school have witnessed your growth and joy. A red certificate of merit has been written about your diligent knowledge and exploration.

In a short period of six years, you have said goodbye to the innocence of your innocence, taking off the childishness of childhood, gaining confidence, abandoning dependence, learning to choose, understanding self esteem, self-reliance and self-reliance.

In the near future, the students will go to new schools, continue to study and pursue their own ideals and life values. The study of junior high school is new: many categories, deep content, fast progress, more heavy learning tasks, and more fierce competition. At the moment of parting, there were thousands of reluctant teachers in the mind of the teacher. But the teacher knows that you are always hawks fighting the sky, you are always a towering tree day; there are countless reluctant to give up!

Students, you are about to leave primary school and embark on a new journey in life. In the middle school, students are willing to respect teachers, love their parents, love their parents, love their school, unite their classmates, work hard and learn, be brave to think, be good at inovation, dare to explore, and strive for the school. All the teachers of your alma mater will continue to pay attention to your growth, believing that six little days are wonderful for you today, and six tomorrow will be proud of you. Finally, I wish my classmates a full and memorable and wonderful school age. May our classmates be able to be upright and practical.

President pitzer Mr. Vice President, Governor, Congressman Thomas, Senator Wiley, and Congressman Miller, Mr. Webb, Mr. Bell, scientists, distinguished guests, and ladies and gentlemen:

I appreciate your president having made me an honorary visiting professor, and I will assure you that my first lecture will be very brief.

I am delighted to be here and I'm particularly delighted to be here on this occasion.

We meet at a college noted for knowledge, in a city noted for progress, in a state noted for strength, and we stand in need of all three, for we meet in an hour of change and challenge, in a decade of hope and fear, in an age of both knowledge and ignorance. The greater our knowledge increases, the greater our ignorance unfolds.

Despite the striking fact that most of the scientists that the world has ever known are alive and working today, despite the fact that this Nation's own scientific manpower is doubling every 12 years in a rate of growth more than three times that of our population as a whole, despite that, the vast stretches of the unknown and the unanswered and the unfinished still far outstrip our collective comprehension.

No man can fully grasp how far and how fast we have come, but condense, if you will, the 50,000 years of man's recorded history in a time span of but a half-century. Stated in these terms, we know very little about the first 40 years, except at the end of them advanced man had learned to use the skins of animals to cover them. Then about 10 years ago, under this standard, man emerged from his caves to construct other kinds of shelter. Only five years ago man learned to write and use a cart with wheels. Christianity began less than two years ago. The printing press came this year, and then less than two months ago, during this whole 50-year span of human history, the steam engine provided a new source of power. Newton explored the meaning of gravity. Last month electric lights and telephones and automobiles and airplanes became available. Only last week did we develop penicillin and television and nuclear power, and now if America's new spacecraft succeeds in reaching Venus, we will have literally reached the stars before midnight tonight.

This is a breathtaking pace, and such a pace cannot help but create new ills as it dispels old, new ignorance, new problems, new dangers. Surely the opening vistas of space promise high costs and hardships, as well as high reward.

So it is not surprising that some would have us stay where we are a little longer to rest, to wait. But this city of Houston, this state of Texas, this country of the United States was not built by those who waited and rested and wished to look behind them. This country was conquered by those who moved forward--and so will space.

William Bradford, speaking in 1630 of the founding of the Plymouth Bay Colony, said that all great and honorable actions are accompanied with great difficulties, and both must be enterprised and overcome with answerable courage.

If this capsule history of our progress teaches us anything, it is that man, in his quest for knowledge and progress, is determined and cannot be deterred. The exploration of space will go ahead, whether we join in it or not, and it is one of the great adventures of all time, and no nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race for space.

Those who came before us made certain that this country rode the first waves of the industrial revolution, the first waves of modern invention, and the first wave of nuclear power, and this generation does not intend to founder in the backwash of the coming age of space. We mean to be a part of it--we mean to lead it. For the eyes of the world now look into space, to the moon and to the planets beyond, and we have vowed that we shall not see it governed by a hostile flag of conquest, but by a banner of freedom and peace. We have vowed that we shall not see space filled with weapons of mass destruction, but with instruments of knowledge and understanding.

My college lifeI am proud of being a college student. I like my college life as it is so wonderful time in my youth. As being born in small village of the remote countryside, I didn't have a good education environment. However, I set a goal and felt confident to be a college student. After hard study, I passed the entrance examination of national college by excellent achievement. All people were proud of me, as I was the first college student in my village. I was farewell warmly by them when I came to school. I was warmly welcome by school, too.

After then, I've felt my study is not only for myself but also for the honor of my village neighborhood and our college life is wonderful. All life in school are fresh. New teachers, new classmates and fresh friends are around me. I've felt their friendship, wide knowledge and opening mind. The grand library, school buildings and wide playground are very attracting to me. I am very eager to learn much knowledge quickly. In high school, I was ever called as a runner before time.

Now,I know I am behind time so much in fact. I hope to catch up with the time by my hard studying. Every day, you can see me get up early, doing exercise hard and go to school the first one. At night, I am the one who leaves away the library.
