有一次我问我的爸爸，“为什么我的英语总是学不好，而我的数学却学得顶呱呱呢？”我的.爸爸回答说：“不是你学不好而是你偏科而已。”爸爸又说：“英语是世界上最广泛应用的语言，汉语只有我们中国人在用，你们下一代是要走向世界的，只有有了语言的沟通，你们才能和美国、英国、法国、加拿大等等许许多多国家里的少年英才们互相沟通，互相学习，把我们的世界建设的更加美好，不学习英语怎么能行呢？”
我仔细想了想，我之所以没有把英语学好，是因为我没有认识到它的重要性。我再不好好学英语，等我长大后走向未来时，我就成为了外国人眼中的文盲，他们就会瞧不起我，而我是祖国的未来，我怎能为我们国家去丢人！
